Yes, most CD players should be cleaned if the CD tray (if ejectable as in multi-disk players) is left open or if the top cover was left open. This may cause an accumulation of dust and dirt on the lens or "eye" of the player, causing the player to be unable to read the disk. Also CD players should be cleaned yearly, to clean out the build-up of dust and lint inside the player, which may cause malfunction of moving parts. Both typed of these problems may be fixed by calling your local electronics store and taking it in to be cleaned.

For CD players that are seemingly skipping areas of known clean CD's - you may consider cleaning the CD (laser) lens. There are a number of inexpensive products on the market that could be used. This link shows several good examples.

Be aware, some CD player manufacturers may recommend a specific type of cleaner for the lens.

players have to be cleaned regularly as dust can make it not working u can clean the table when u eject the table to insert the cd and the cd or dvd u put should also be wiped with a neat cloth to avoid small particles going inside the player
