Question about Dell Inspiron 8600 Notebook
No lights come on- nothing. The previous night, I took out the keyboard just to clean out the fan etc. The screwdrivers weren't magnetized or anything. I took the battery out before hand too... just like I do every couple of months to clean it out.
Afterwards it powered on fine, and was left on all night. I turned it off (sleep/hibernate- I can't remember) in the morning, brought it to class. At class, it worked fine. At the end of the class, I put it into hibernation, and it won't come back on.
No lights, nothing of any sort.
The adapter works, the battery seems to be ok. The adapter's light comes on. I used it on other laptops, and it charges them. I tried using other adapters on the broken laptop, and nothing happens.
I also tried powering it on without the battery in.
Try taking out the memory and put it back it. I probablly needs to be reset

Shut down your Dell desktop computer.
Remove all of the power and peripheral cables from your computer. There should be no cables connected to your computer when you attempt to remove the cover and open the case.
Watch for the green "Power" indicator light to dim. This light is on the back of the case near where the power cable plugs in. Your computer will hold onto an excess amount of energy for a few seconds after it is unplugged. You don't want to open your Dell computer case while this light is still lit.
Use a screwdriver to remove the screws holding the side of your Dell desktop computer's case. Set the screws aside.
