Re: hts 3450 home theatre system- dvd in player- but...
When a disk is stuck inside the player , try following the procedure below:
Unplug power cord. Plug back power. Turn on the unit and press repeatedly the eject button at the same time. If you successeed in ejecting the disk before the player starts reading TOC(disk initial track), then the disk will eject. If that does not work, then there is an internal fault, in that case the unit must be taken apart to remove the disk.

DVD sledges work by a rubber belt that in your case might have broke or come off. It's very easy to replace. Find the original belt. Measure the diameter in MM (approx) and do a Google search for "Drive belt XX MM".
Get the nearest to your size.
The best way is to connect your laptop to a spare HDMI input on your TV first, then use the AUX OUT from your TV to the AUX IN1 of the Phillips Home theatre system using a standard RCA cable. The only catch with this is that you will have stereo analog audio, NOT digital surround. However, by pressing the "SURROUND" button of your Phillips HTS remote you can switch the audio output to multi-channel surround, stereo or party mode.
What is the model number of the TV you are using?

Before you do what I am about to suggest, understand that doing so will void your warranty with Philips. Find out if the product is still in warranty before proceeding - if it IS in warranty, then get it replaced through Philips (even though it is a simple solution):
Unscrew the four main screws on the bottom of the main base that are keeping the main unit together. Open up the case, retrieve the disc. Make sure that you do not knock ANYTHING out of place - you must proceed VERY carefully. Rescrew the case. Voila!
