Are you sure the limit and sequencer were the problem in the first place? Why replace both? First need to verify you have low voltage getting to the sequencer.
Tom P's answer is generally correct: The motor start capacitor is usually not the problem. However, in some cases, particularly on older furnaces, where there were capacitors of certain make and production run will prematurely fail. This happened in March on a mobile home HVAC unit where both the blower fan and condenser fan motor capacitors failed open circuit. Both caps were of the same Mfg, and production lot.
Here is a suggestion (for you or an electrically inclined friend): Locate a substitute motor capacitor having similar Mfd (or MF) and Voltage ratings. Remove power from the unit. Reach into the blower squirrel cage and spin it to verify that the shaft is not frozen. Pull the wires from the existing capacitor noting color and location. Connect the wires to the substitute capacitor and secure it place. Apply power and turn on the blower. A no start? Motor replacement time.
I am trying to install a Honeywell VisionPro 8000 thermostat for my Intertherm Central Electric Furnace but I am having trouble getting to work any suggestions?
Some of the old heat pumps made the reversing valve in the heating mode. On your new thermostat the orange wire will need to be on the B terminal. If it was color coded? I hope you made notes of how it was.
It would help if I knew what type of system you have, lets start with the thermostat. If you disconnect the wires to it, does the heat turn off? I have seen thermostat wires pinched inside the wall, thus bypassing the thermostat controls altogether and it would run constantly. If you send a reply, tell the type. Wall furnace, central unit, heat & cool, gas, electric or heat pump. If you dont know tell me how many wires you have at the thermostat and the colors. You should know this, as you have changed it.
