My TV remote will turn the TV on and off but it will not perform any other funcions. I can not get to the device menu to connect to the DVD player. I have checked the DVD player and it works properly in other TV in the house and i have PIPed devices and it showes the picture for the DVD player but only on half of the screen. After several tries of the remote not responding, the TV will just turn off by itself. Please Help.

Dear Sir, Welcome to Fixya, Im not really sure what the code is but I was able to set up my remote by performing a search.
Following these steps: 1. Press the TV device key and then press Setup until the remote blinks twice 2. Pres 9-9-1 ( the remote should blink twice) 3. Press 1 ( The TV light should blink once) 4. Press the Power Key 5. Press the Ch+ key until the TV turns off. 6. Once the TV turns off press Setup to lock the key in.
I only had to press CH+ 3 times. When I performed the key playback test i got 11100 so you can try that but I would perform the search its alot easier to me. let me now it works or not Best RegardsChnadrashekhar
The remote control is an acess to the TV device for example only from a distance. A remote controll for functionality would require to insert batteries a power source making possible communiction with devices requiring reception transmittion of signals. The remote is handheld pointed to the direction of TV requiring signal before button pressed woudl achieve response. a common button to start the remote control experience is pressing on the power button, that displays a signal on the TV. The TV should momentarily produce a sound and lighting effect,, and displaying on the dark screen a light blue screen. The initial signal response from remote control to TV indicates devices are functioning as required. Additional buttons on the remote controll could perform functions of several available.
The remote control has master button, menu on which every additional function is deriveable. Once the menu button is pressed with remote pointed in the direction of TV, should dicplay a list of options on the blue screen already established by power button. Every additional remote control device functionality is achievable by only after the first two buttons have been powered and pressed to display option results on a screen of TV. The remote controll buttons remaining perform complementary functionalities. For example, the arrow keys on remote control make movement of the options displayed on the screen, where a comfrimation button or identified as select allows to confirm remote functions displayed on the screen. A remote control could have several functionalities only accessible once made to display in screen. The three most common buttons on a remote control are First power button that powers on the TV, menu button that displays a list of functionalities on the powered on bl;ank blue screen, and using the arrow buttons on the remote would moves an indicator arround the screen area options. The selection button makes confrimation of the option.
The instructions that came with my remote were COMPLETELY incorrect. I made note in pen in my jumbo remote manual. After hours of searching the web and piecing together various blogs, I wrote these easy-to-use instructions:
Place the jumbo remote and your old remote on a flat surface, head to head, with a 1" to 2" space in between (the remotes should be aiming at eachother).
Press and HOLD the device button on the jumbo remote (eg. TV) until the jumbo remote's small indicator light turns solid red.
Press the LEARN button once on the jumbo remote. The light will blink rapidly.
On the jumbo remote, press the button that you want to perform the learned action (eg. If you want the jumbo remote to turn your TV on and off, press the POWER button on the jumbo remote).
Press the same button on your old remote (eg. POWER button on my old tv remote control). When the jumbo remote's light changes from rapid flashing to slower flashing, press ENTER on the jumbo remote.
You're done! Try the jumbo remote out (eg. Aim the jumbo remote at your TV, press the jumbo remote's TV button, then press the jumbo remote's POWER button). Your television should turn on or off with your jumbo remote.
You can program any jumbo remote button this way (eg. MENU, EXIT, MUTE). Just make sure you press the same button on each remote in steps 4 and 5 (eg. MENU on jumbo remote, MENU or LIST on old remote).
On the remote control, press a device key one (e.g., AUD, VCR, TV, or CBL). Press and hold SETUP until the selected mode key blinks twice, then release SETUP.
Locate the four-digit code found in the list below that corrisponds with the device you are programming then enter that four-digit code. If performed correctly, the selected mode key will blink twice. (NOTE:If the selected mode key emits a long blink, the code is invalid. Repeat steps 2 and 3 and try entering the same code again.)
Aim the remote control at the device ad press POWER once. The device should trun off. If it does not, repeat steps 2 and 3, tryin each code for you brand until you find one that works. If it still does not work, try searching for the code.
Repeat steps 1 through 4 for each device you want the remote control to control.
I have a Mitsubishi WD-52725 TV, too, and have experienced the same problems with it. My solution to the remote not responding is to push the reset button on the front of the TV (to the left of the Power button) with a paper clip and wait for the green light to stop blinking (about 1 minute). Then, turn it back on and try the remote again.
Recently, my remote stopped responding when pushing certain buttons on it. I removed the batteries, and all of the little screws including the one inside the battery compartment and gently cleaned the contacts inside the remote and the circuit board with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. After putting it back together, it works fine now.
