foward and no reverse. In order for the reverse to happen there is a transmission brake assemble, the transmission band holds the brake assembly thus allowing fluid to be driven according to gear selection, when no reverse happens there is a malfunction of mechanical or hydraulic part, Depending on the condition you can adjust the kick down or adjust the band. A general procedure for automatic transmission band adjustment involves tightening the band adjusting screw to a given torque sequence, back off the adjusting screw from turning while torque-tightening the adjustment screw about a 1/4 turn and lock down the lock nut,and recheck to see if reverse has been restored.
Check for broken wires in the rubber boot in the door jam.. Iv'e found so many break from the wires bending back and forth from the door opening and closing..the circut uses more than two wires for up and down operations of the motor .and they always seem to be broken. good luck
The other screws are behind the woodgrain panels on either side of the speedometer cluster. The panels are held in place with metal clips and are difficult to pry loose. I did it by using a small plastic wedge that I found in a junk pile and once I had a place to start, I worked each corner of both panels until pried out. These panels could break, so go slow and be patient.
