There was a special mode on bluetooth unit itself to have blackberry sync with it. The Sprint store ended up knowing just what to do so heading into ones cell plan provider is a quick solution too.

You also have to have the headset on pairing mode also during the time of the attempted sync, see your documentation on your headsets on how to set it for pairing mode.

Blackberry 8830 world edition...all calls come up unknown number. Called sprint and it's not an issue through them it is a setting in the phone somewhere.

Hi there,

This happens strangely because of the "Content protection" feature of the blackberry.
The problem is seen worse when you see that some caller names are shown and not all. This happens due to the time when this setting is enabled. The entries added after this will be protected

RESOLUTION:

This is for my model blackberry 8830
Goto Options -> Security options -> General Settings

Scroll Down to section starting with "Content Compression"
Look for "Content Protection" It must be "Enabled"
You can disable it at this level (not recommended) to disable the protection for all contents.
Specifically you can disable it for Address Book By setting "No" for "Include Address Book"
This way the address book will be available even if the other contents are protected when a call comes.

Would appreciate logging a message to me if this has saved your life!!! smile.gif

Need a numeric passkey for tomtom one xl to enter into the blackberry 8830

try this, pair from the tomtom and not your BB, set your blackberry's bluetooth to discoverable.

from the tomtom search for BT devices, your BB should show up, connect to it, and when asked for a passkey try entering 1234 or 0000. if those dont work your BB should show that the tomtom is attempting to connect and should ask you whether to accept or deny, it may then ask for a passkey which you specify on your BB which you then enter on the tomtom

Cannot pair lg voyager with jawbone bluetooth.

Mine wouldn't pair either so I went to the jawbone site and I did this and it worked the first time.

For Jawbone ICON, while the power is off, press and hold down the Talk button and slide the power switch on. When the LED starts to flash red and white alternately, release the Talk button.

1. Press the OK Key.

2. Highlight SETTINGS & TOOLS and press the OK Key.

3. Select Bluetooth Menu.

4. Select Add New Device. (If Bluetooth power is set to off, you will be prompted to turn power on. Select Yes and press the OK key.)

5. Highlight Jawbone and press the OK Key.
Enter the PIN "0000" (be sure to enter four zeroes and not the letter "O") and press the OK Key.

Motorola S9 and Blackberry 8830

Hi,

To stream music to the S9 the phone needs to support stereo bluetooth or in other words A2DP. The Blackberry 8830 unfortunately doesn't support this and only supports regular mono bluetooth. This is why no music is heard from the S9.
