Re: error message C 31:11

Error C31:11 indicates a loading problem and most likely the loading phase of the mechanism needs to be aligned properly. I can repair this for a flat rate of $125.00. Contact me if I can be of further assistance to you.
Thanks, Frank

I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC-48 and the tape door won't close along with a 32.11 error code.....HELP

Try these steps:

1. Open the tape cover fully until it clicks open.
2. Turn the camcorder on to "VCR Mode."
3. With the cover still open and the camera in "VCR mode," take out the battery.
4. Put the battery back in--out should pop your tape.

Keep us updated.

  1. I'm having the exact same problem. It wont accept the cassette...only half way then errors. It will close fully without a cassette as well. hmmmmm
Comment by Guest, posted on Apr 02, 2008 Load cassette, turn it on, then message says re-load cassette. Door to cassette compartment only works half way. After fiddling with power, can get the cassette door to open and close all the way, but not with cassette. Tried several brands of cassettes, no joy.

Error messages

a: try the reset button ( next to the eject button ( you have to press it with a pen)
b: change the internal battery
c: take the tape out, give everything a shake and put the tape back in, make sure the door is firmly closed.
This fixed my problem when I had these error messages.

"Re-attach the power source" but tape is stuck, door open

I had the same problem. First, depress the reset button, located on the camera body (where the LCD screen closes over it). It is hard to see at first. It is important that the camera be set to the OFF position. When the camera is whirring after the reset, then hit the EJECT button so the tape comes out. Take the tape out and insert it back. That's it. My camcorder worked fine and let me record or plaback once I followed those steps.
