My web cam is not working

did you try update correct drivers and reboot system?drivers is here -

just go to the site of google, then type note to self: microsoft lifecam vx-1000 webcam..you can download the installer.

What type of operating system that you use? (exm window xp, window 7, MAC)
mostly window 7, have the driver for new and old hardware.

Firstly. Try using device manager->
Find your web cam's adapter here.
If driver is not suitable with that webcam, it will show icon with question mark(?).
It it suit, it will not have question mark.

For it with question mark..
1. Right click, chose properties at your adapter
2. find tab driver
3.update
4restart.
CAN YOU TELL THE MODEL. IF NOT FIX ..
TRY QUEST AGAIN WITH MODEL

update windows. re-install original drivers.

According to what you've told so far it's gong to be software problem. I had such thing with my dv6000 when webcam and microphone stopped working for no reason.
So to solve the problem CLICK HERE, select your operating system, download the webcam drivers and reinstall them.

may be the driver files are missing .. just update it and see ...

as you said the cd driver is not working and you recently bought this you can easily return this for the warranty
