Question about Casio MS-80TV Scientific Calculator

Changing the % tax setting on my Casio calculator

Hi, I have a Casio MS-8TV calculator with tax function for VAT etc, but the tax rate is set to 5%, not 17.5% for the UK. Does anyone know how to alter it? Thanks Sam

    i havr casio MS-80TV and i dont know hoe to change the tax rate from 5% to 8.25% like it is in usa

    press AC

    HOLD set % (but do not let go until screen turns off and back on again-5 seconds)

    press tax+

    type rate ie 5.5 for 5.5%

    press set%

    press ac



    check it by typing 100 and tax+ should be 105.5

    press tax- (what a sweet feature) I bought two of these!

Step 1 pess the AC button step 2 press and hold for two seconds the % button step 3 press the tax+ button step 4 input 17­.5 step 5 press the % button that should be the tax set you can check it is set correctly by pressing the AC button and then the tax+ and 17.5 should be displayed

Thanks for the info but following the 'best solution' the tax is incorporated in the total figure - does anyone know how to just show the tax please?

Thanks it worked....however mine keeps randomly referring to 7% without me knowing....any suggestions why it would do this?

How do I set the GST/VAT tax rate on a Casio WM220T calculator


This works on several different casio calculators
Press AC butoon
Press AND HOLD % /Rate Set button for 2 to 3 seconds - This is important
Press Tax+ button
Input the tax rate you want eg: 12½% = 12.5
Press the % /Rate set button again

Press AC first, then hold down the RATE SET % button for 2 seconds, then input the rate and press RATE SET % button again

you hold your set % button down for three seconds until set shows again, then hit tax rate button it shows your tax rate, change your tax rate then hit set your tax rate should be set.

Has it had the system options set for tax? Was it calculating previously? Usually you just need to change the rate when you have a tax increase.
