The issue is not with your printer, rather it is with your pc. You might need to get your computer cleaned up as the normal situation with this is a lack of available memory for the processing required to translate the scan. Check to see what other programs you are running. You can do this by pressing ctl-alt-del and enter your task manager. you will see processes and the numbers will be flicking up and down, it is possable that one of these is causing you an issue. Do not end any of the processes. close this window and open start, run. type "msconfig" and press enter. This will open up a series of windows. the last one is your "start up" any and or all of these can be removed from start up. You will then have to reboot your pc and see how it goes. Don't be too concerned about removing them all, you can simply put them back into your start up folder by re entering this window and reticking it.
Once you have done this, you will find your pc will run a heap faster, however if you are still having issues with scans, it may mean that you need to upgrade the memory in your pc or up grade your pc.

I get an error code 5100. Printer does not start to print. I have checked the printer head and cleaned it. Only on print catridge is low and flashing.
