These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

My Ipod Nano Chromatic Won't Work

My ipod chromatic just stopped working. i unplugged it from my computer and forgot to eject it first now it is frozen onto the screen that says connected eject before disconecting and it says its still on...


Toggle the 'hold' button on and then off... then hold down the menu button and the centre button at the same time for 10 + seconds... an apple logo should appear, this should restart your ipod... if i doesn't go back to normal, from the apple screen just plug it in to your computer again and it should work!!!

Sana e280 frozen screen reads Refresh Database


put the player in recovery mode by placing the hold slide button at the top of the player so that the red showes, held down the record button while turning on the player. upon connecting the USB cable the unit will go into the recover mode. Go to my computer and look for the drive which states "16MB Format" and copy the firmware files into it. Disconecting the cable after the files are copied will cause the player to reload the firmware. The player will restart and then shut off because of the Hold button position. Slide the Hold button back into normal mode and push the menu button to restart. The unit will power up and display the language settings. I went to the settings menu and changed the player USB setting to USC. I then placed the player in recovery mode again and went to the MY Computer again and set window to show hidden files. This allowes windows to see the database drive. I then ran chkdsk on the database drive which found a lot of crossed linked files. This then allowed me to delete all the files in the database. Upon comming out of the recovery mode the unit restarted normaly.

Ipod screen issue


send it to apple for repairs, or put it into service mode and restart it. hold the center and menu buttons until a menu appears. do not pick format disk. it will remove everything from the hard drive!!!

White screen, have to do a soft restart and then words show up


if you are having the problem of a blank white screen, dont freak out! hold down the menu and select button for about 15 seconds or until the appel logo appears.if this doesnt work try plugging in your ipod. if that doesnt work wiggle the lock and unlock button a couple of times. if all these soulutions dont work go to www.apple.com and call customer support
