Onkyo TX-DS747 A&B Switching Problem

Hello FixYa Experts,

I have an A&B speaker switching problem with my Onkyo TX-DS747.
It jumps back and forth between the A & B setting. As I have it set to the
A setting there is no audio until it jumps back.

The amp is clean and A & B buttons are clean and have positive positions
when pushed.

The amp will keep the A setting once it is warmed up but as time goes on it
is taking longer to lock onto the A setting.

There are other posts with the same problem on FixYa so I will add my post
to the list and see if the experts can find a Fix.

Thanks much, Edd

The problem could only be in the a/b switch, you may need to install a new switch.

Tx-ds747 no display light, when powering on only stand by mode and the volume knob has light ,how to fix it.

Sounds like the "Pure Audio" mode is turned on. This mode is designed to use the amps power to dedicate to audio processing and sound quality. It turns off all front panel lights and video processing. Check you remote or thr front panel of the Onkyo for a "Pure Audio" button.

Hello

maybe you have defective power transistor output and this is shorted, or the problem is in the power section like shorted diode shorted capacitors or open circuit may cause this, and the STK IC if shorted you got protect warning..

Check the units internal "menu" settings for speakers and audio. beyond that, there would be an internal problem and neded service. Hope this helps

My unit switches between speakers A, B and neither, while warming up. Lasting anywhere from 5min-15mins until it settles. Then speakers A can be selected and it will stay there. How do I fix this?

I see that I am not only one with same issue with TX-DS747, and would be grateful if someone could post some more info about this problem.

Speaker switching problem

What the type of switch you have there? its like a push button or a soft button? Often you have a contact switch problem on your unit. I f can access the switch contact and clean it that maybe can help on your problem.
