Dear sir

first uninstall the program & delete the temporary files
ex: START>RUN> type TEMP please delete all the files in that folder

after that restart your system

now install the program after that dont remove the program CD from your computer.
then open ms word. it will take some extra files from CD.

now you can run the program directly

utility.

5. Click Start>Run, type "regedit" (without the quotation marks) in the
Open box and press Enter.

Quit Registry Editor.

If you have office formatted documents (word, excel, power point , etc) that you need to gain access to them , I suggest downloading and installing OPEN OFFICE from Sun Microsystems.
It's completely MS Office compatible, and it's FREE!

I cannot open .docx and xlsx files.

The files extensions you have listed, .docx and .xlsx, are files that have been created using the Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 suite of programs. Specifically .docx is a Microsoft Word document, and .xlsx is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. You will have to have either of the Microsoft Office programs mentioned, or you can also use the Open Office suite of programs. This is a free program that you can download at the following website:

You could use Open Office. This is compatible with at least MS Office 2007. This app is available for free and can be found at: www.openoffice.org
It contains a compatible word, power point, excel and email format.

PROBLEM WITH EXCEL

  1. Click the Microsoft Office Button default.aspx?assetid=za100771021033, click Excel Options, and then click Add-Ins.
    1. View the add-ins and application extensions that are categorized as follows:
    2. Active Application Add-ins Lists the extensions that are registered and currently running in your Office program.
    • Inactive Application Add-ins Lists the add-ins that are present on your computer but are not currently loaded. For example, smart tags or XML Schemas are active only when the document that references them is open. Another example is the COM add-ins that are listed in the COM Add-ins dialog box. If the check box for a COM add-in is selected, the add-in is active. If the check box for a COM add-in is cleared, the add-in is inactive. To learn how to open the COM Add-in dialog box, see the section called Turn off or manage the installed add-ins.
    • Document Related Add-ins Lists template files that are referenced by currently open documents.
    • Disabled Application Add-ins Lists add-ins that were automatically disabled because they are causing Office programs to crash.

Ms word, excel, powerpoint wont open anymore

Apparently your Microsoft Office files have been deleted or damaged. Try System Restore first (Open Control Panel, click on 'Performance and Maintenance' then in the left column choose 'System Restore' and follow the directions for "Restore my computer to an earlier time"). If this doesn't help, you'll need to completely re-install Microsoft Office.
