Re: brother printer mfc4420 c

If you don?t have proof of purchase (receipt) they typically will ask for the serial number, figure out the manufacturing date and use that as the start of your warranty. If that didn?t happen call back and explain your problem again, omitting the previous call. There is nothing dishonest about this; you probably got a lazy, incompetent or new phone representative and telling them someone else said no just gives them an easy way out. If you get the same response nicely ask for a supervisor. Explain that while you understand they are following instructions it seems unfair and you would like to talk to the supervisor. If you have a reasonable request and behave nicely you can usually get some satisfaction. If your printer was made over a year from the manufacturing date then you?re probably out of luck unless you purchased the printer from an on-line store. They can easily give you a print out of the purchase with the date it was bought. Good luck and please don?t forget to rate this posting.

CP3525X printer will not print the black cartridge.

Your ink cartridge is low, empty or possibly clogged

First step is to see will if it print a test page

Go to Start, settings, printers. Right click on the printer, properties, print test page.

If that doesn't work there should be a head cleaning option in properties that will make it clean the print heads.

If there is still nothing after that then either it's badly clogged, low or out of ink, and needs to be replaced

This may help

Turn on the hot water until warm
Put about 1/2 inches of water in a cup
Put the print head portion (where the ink comes out) in for about a minute or two
This will help to dissolve the clogged print head
Dry off the cartridge using a soft tissue.
Re-insert the cartridge into the printer.
Run the normal cleaning software routine a few times

I get blotches on my printouts on my Brother HL5270. I have tried "cleaning sheets" and also tried the toner and drum from another Brother printer which prints OK - still get the blotches, so...

First, the print head may be getting clogged and you need toremove the print head and soak (a couple of hours) it in warm distilled waterto dissolve the dried ink. Blot the print head dry with a lint free cloth beingcareful not to rub the electronics. Second, the new ink cartridges (if they arenot OEM) could be causing a problem. Reloaded or second party cartridges maynot always match the specifications for quality required by the printermanufacturer and may accelerate "gumming of the print head". Anotherpossibility of this problemis toner leak. Check if your toner leaks in the rubber filter and cause it to fall and the quality of your prints badly. Hope this willhelp you. Good Luck.

I am using my Brother MFC 240 C printer for the first time. I bought all new ink cartridges, installed them, the printhead cleaned....all that to say everything seemed to be in order. When I press print...

Brother printers have very fine tubes running from the cartridges to the actual print head itself. Using it for the first time you may need to run the head cleaning process up to 3 times to get the ink primed to the head correctly.
If it still does not work i would say that it is a mechanical failure and recommended taking it back to where you purchased it from for a replacement.
I hope this helps Regards GM

When i print it comes out blurry

Could be your print head has gone out of alignment.
This is only a problem if you do bi-directional printing - speeds up printing but even when working correctly does degrade print quality a bit.
Do a print alighment test (see your user manual - available on the Brother website) and follow the instructions on the test sheet it will produce.
If this doesn't help, try disabling bi-directional printing. This will vary according to which operating system you have, but for example in Windows XP:
1. Go to Control Panel 2. Double click "Printers and Faxes" 3. Right click the appropriate icon for your Brother printer 4. Click on "Advanced" tab 5. Click on "Printing Defaults" button 6. Click on the "Settings" button 7. Un-check the "Bi -Directional Printing" box 8. "OK" to close all windows.
If neither helps, this most likely means your print head has been damaged. I'm afraid there is no simple solution to this problem. Repairing these machines isn't straight forward and parts are very difficult to obtain and very, very expensive, so much so that 99 times out of a 100, it isn't cost effective to repair. You could approach a Brother service agent, but it's highly probably that they will charge you more than buying an equivalent brand new machine.

Mfc 295cn won't print black

I've tried everythin. The only thing that really worked is to set paper type to transparency. This means no head failure but something else.

Will not print text in documents, only headings.

When you go to print on your settings select print in black only. Did you buy Brother ink? Having old cartridges refilled or buying generic can pose a problem. I remember correctly brothers have a chip on the ink cartridge? I have gone through so many printers and its really not worth going any further, seems as though you have put sometime and effort in to this 100$ printer. Take 100$ & buy a kodak easy share all in one the ink is 15$ brand new.

I have a brother mfc 3240C. I have changed the

Light/faint prints usually are a result from clogged ink or air bubbles between the cartridge and print head (thus changing cartridge wont fix problem). Try printing the test page print from the machine (Ink Management -> set/ok twice). Answer the question(s) in the display and repeat this up to five times. The colors should be improved after 1-3 test prints usually.
