i have this printer and this is the second time the print head has gone bad. brother will not set up a work order for me as my org.reciept was givin as pop for a rebate. the product is registered and that should be pop but no. anyone have any ideas, on how to get a new print head?

- thank you for your post, but after much consideration i bought a new all in one, not a brother machine. ireally felt this was a customer service issue because brother is aware that the print head on this all in one was defective on all the printer of this type and used the fact that my org. reciept was given to them at proof of purchase to recieve a rebate to not issue a replacement.
If you don?t have proof of purchase (receipt) they typically will ask for the serial number, figure out the manufacturing date and use that as the start of your warranty. If that didn?t happen call back and explain your problem again, omitting the previous call. There is nothing dishonest about this; you probably got a lazy, incompetent or new phone representative and telling them someone else said no just gives them an easy way out. If you get the same response nicely ask for a supervisor. Explain that while you understand they are following instructions it seems unfair and you would like to talk to the supervisor. If you have a reasonable request and behave nicely you can usually get some satisfaction.
If your printer was made over a year from the manufacturing date then you?re probably out of luck unless you purchased the printer from an on-line store. They can easily give you a print out of the purchase with the date it was bought.

It seems to print, but nothing appears on the paper. The ink cartridges are full. I no longer have the original software so I downloaded from the Brother site. Perhaps I've missed something?
