The gas leak can be the safety valve. in side the oven where the burner sits on you have to remove the burner to get to it.

  • my own stove have the problem with the gas leak on the safety valve, only 2 years old. for the temperature check that the ignitor does not take more than 60 to 70 seconds to light the burner, if that's the problem the oven is trying to maintaining temperature but it can not because the safety valve does not open on time. so the ignitor needs replacing.

Oven heating very slow smell gas

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at http://appliancehelponline.com/gasoventroubleshootvideo.html this will walk you thru the correct procedure for performing this test. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

Oven takes too long to reach temp and the smell of gas

Sounds like a weak ignitor is not opening the gasvalve completely. Only testing the amp the ignitor draws will confirm. It could also be a sticking valve. Have a professional verify, this is not safe.

The oven will not reach desired temperature. Had

it sounds like you have a bad temperature controller thermostat or your temperature sensor inside the oven, (a metal rod attached to a thin metal wire) is not in its proper place. It clips into connectors located at the back center of the oven itself.

Kitchenaid oven KEBC107KSS03 won't heat after cleaning cycle.

I have a kitchenaid oven # KEBC107KSS03. When I set the temp to 400 the buzzer goes off saying the temp has reached the desired temp, the temp is only 250 and will take another 20-30min to reach 400.

thanks for your reply

KitchenAid gas range superba not reaching/registering right temp.

Always preheat your oven and let it cycle at least 2 times. Your unit may show 350 but the manufactures know that it is not 350. When it registers preheated, it really means that it is at an acceptable temperature to start cooking. If you think that it may not be calibrated correctly, your owner's manual will have instructions on how to recalibrate your oven. You will be able to raise or lower the temperature by + 25 degrees or - 25 degrees. As far as the gas smell, you will from time to time smell a gas smell with a gas oven especially if you are right at it when it ignites. If you are smelling gas when it is not in use then you should be extremely concerned.

Gas oven not heating

waka,

I'm guessing that there is an issue of some kind with flow of heat inside the oven. Gas ovens use the hot air/gas exhaust to heat up the oven. Flames mean heat. The flames should be about half an inch long or so. If not, there may be an issue, but I don't think that is it.

Have you lined the oven with foil? It is possible that vents from the boiler section are closed up? That will prevent heat from reaching the oven.
