Check whether there is a sound icon (like a speaker icon) on the right side tray or the taskbar.
If there is one, then try to unmute the volume option.
Else the sound driver might not have been installed properly. Please do check the motherboard CD for the sound driver for your specified hardware or your PC model. You can probably get it from your vendor.Thank you for contacting us.Please do keep posting further queries.

Microsoft officially ended all "support" for Windows 98 over 2 years ago, and officially ended all "support" for Windows 2000 on July 13, 2010.

So, stop using Windows 98; instead, get a new computer, which will be running Windows 7, and then LIVE-TV will work.

How do you optimize windows 98 for a dsl connection?

you either buy a new computer or install windows 2000 to the computer.

windows 98 is very limited in that sense. and its quite insecure to use that online.

I would say its not safe to use windows 98 on the internet, I would definitely NOT pay my bills on a windows 98 machine.

Since microsoft does not support 98 anymore, they don't fix any of the security problems that come up, so your computer is open to the internet for any hacker to drop by and take it over or steal your details.

I would highly recommend it that you either install windows 2000 to the computer or buy a new computer, or buy a used computer with windows xp, I bet you can get one of those for less than 100

How can I put wireless adaptor on win 98 first edition

Good luck.

The first edition of Windows 98 lacked support for many devices. Windows 98 Second Edition added some support.

Can you find a "Windows 98 Second Edition Upgrade" CD-ROM and
license-key?

Search for a wireless-adapter that *CLEARLY* states that it is supported on Windows 98 SE.

It's time to "trash" that computer.

Find somebody who has an older Pentium 3 or Pentium 4 computer that is running Windows XP, and buy that computer from them.

Hello,

Sounds to me that a program installed isn't playing nice with Windows 98. I would go into safe mode and remove what ever software was recently installed or do as the link says and remove Antivirus program. If you can't get into safe mode I would have to tell you to reinstall Windows 98.

Have a good day,

Laptop - Windows 98 Graphics & Sound Drivers

Find the Brand Name and Model Number of your sound card, then do a Google search using the following string:

(Brand Name) (Model Number) +driver

This should bring up a list of sites that have drivers to download. You may find there a Windows 98 Driver for the sound card.

Compaq does not list one, but the manufacturer might.

Good luck.

Install Sound Blaster Live Card

Is the Soundcard already in the PC at the moment?
If you need help putting it in, let me know.

Here's an overview of driver for Windows 98. When the card is inserted in one of the PCI expansion slots you must install it's drivers. Windows will probably detect the card but doesn't know how to control it.

Here's the link I promised above:
[SoundBlaster Live! Platinum 5.1 Drivers and Software]

I hope this helps, need more help. Let me know.
Please rate.

Greetings,

DarkNeogen.

System Code Error 87

Sounds like the application you are running may not be compatible with Windows 98. Probably can't do much as Windows 98 is so old.

Although it may be a missing file, DLL, or driver on your Windows 98 system, hard to tell.

Windows 98 install

It could be a memory related problem. Try to test your memory module by installing it to a different system that is surely working. If that system restarts, then you must replace the memory module.
