Question about Primera Technology Primera BravoPro printer

2 Answers

I am trying to print a label that I made in Photoshop.

The background picture is a frame shot from a student film made at my school. I brought the frame I want into Photoshop and saved it as a jpeg and also as a tiff. When I put the finished product into Primera, though, the background picture is very dark and the white in the picture shows up as green. What do you think the problem is?

Sounds like a problem with color correction. You are probably implementing a color profile on the saved image. The Primera unit uses its own form of color profile called (from memory) primacolor. Therefore you are applying a profile to a profile which causes problems. Go into the printer driver and deactivate Primacolor and it should fix it.

I have a role of film w/ 15 shots and I need to finish the rest, how do I use it if it already been roled up

If the film has already been rewound into the cartridge then you need to use a film leader retriever to fish out the end of it again. You then load the film in the usual way and then in total darkness and without flash, fire the shutter 16 times and wind the film on between each shot. You need to waste an image to preserve those already on the film.

Note that you'll then have to tell the minilab operator what you've done: automatic processing equipment will look at the first few developed negatives to determine the frame spacing. When there's a gap halfway along the frame spacing will likely be out of register with the rest of the film, so you may end up with prints of half on e frame and half another. Also when the machine slices your negs into strips, it may cut halfway through some of the resumed shots. All this attention counts as special processing so may cost more.

But to be honest, the tool and the special processing is going to cost more than just losing the unused shots. Just get what you already have developed and printed and slap a new roll of film in the camera.

I accidentally pushed the film release button before finishing my film, and it won't pop back out. it won't let me take pictures too. how do you fix this?

The mechanism won't re-engage until you open the door (camera back) and shut it again, then wind on and fire a few shots as if starting a new film. You could open and shut the door in total darkness, and then waste a few shots to carry on with the film in the camera, but the frame counter will be wrong. Unless there is a lot of film left on the cassette, you might as well just rewind it and start again with a new film. Yes, you will probably be paying more than you should for the processing and printing of a partial film, but you will get your pics.

I have brought a laptop and it keep requesting for a microsoft product key to for microsoft home and student 2007 please and someone help me need this for school

You can try looking on the BOTTOM of the unit. Most manufactures that ship OEM software will put the product key label there. If there is no label, you will need to either contact the person from whom you purchased the computer or contact Microsoft with your credit card in hand.

Linking photoshop and canon MP700 for best quality photos

If your pictures are shot at the highest setting on your camera, you should not have to do anything in Photoshop.

When you go to print make sure the print setting on the printer are set to the highest level.

Scanning barcodes with colored background

unfortunately it appears that you do not have sufficient Contrast for your barcodes, this will make scanning them difficult, that with the added issues of wear & fading makes the use of barcoded passcards difficult. it's probably better to use RFID or Magstripe cards for this application

When I printed the photos none of them was even close to film-based photos

Try using a good program like Photoshop and when you adjust for printing...make sure you DO NOT subsample the image so it can fit on a 4x6 photo paper page. What I mean by that, is in fact reduce the image to fit on such a small page but do not kill the resolution.... In Photoshop, you would open up Image Size under the Image menu and turn uncheck resample image...as you adjust for paper size...you will notice that your resolution stays intact on the top of the window. I assume that is your problem since the 2500 is highres and should give you fantastic results in a 4x6 format.....
