Yes the taskbar control is working as usual, but I thought I could use the keyboard one,u are saying that sometimes a driver is required? So thats maybe why its not working...you asked the model of the laptop,it's Compaq Presario CQ60.This is what is written in the monitor.

    Thank u for answering!

Oh, sorry, you posted this in PC Desktops, not laptops. Since the keyboard is integrated into the laptop, it's probably not a driver issue. I know for my Dell laptop, there is a program that runs called "Dell QuickSet". Without that program running, none of my special/multimedia keys work, including audio controls. You should go to the Compaq support page for your laptop model and see if there is any special software you can download.

Can you control the audio from the taskbar? Usually keyboards with multimedia controls require a special driver to be installed, what is the manufacturer and model of your keyboard?

Download and install the control program for the keyboard from the manufacturer's website. Also, there is a "startup" executable that must be running in order for the "helper" program to work - if you've done a registry cleanup or tweaked your startup with msconfig or another utility, it may have disabled it.

The sound button on my keyboard doesn't work

Well, reinstalling the drivers would have been my first bet...If you use volume control on your keyboard a lot, maybe pop off the key and check under for dirt/grime?

Keyboard wont work

ok I don't really have enough info on this question but im pretty confident i can help you.
it sounds like your brother has a desktop computer and its a bit older. so since he does not have usb ports on it it has a pin connector called ps2 its located next to the mouse connector.
all you have to do is go to a store that carries OLDER keyboards maybe even a used keyboard just plug it up (while pc is off) and that should resolve your issue :)

Keyboard doesn't work properly

Turn on your computer, go to the control panel, if you are using Windows XP, click on switch to classic control panel" and then go to Accessibility Options. There is a keyboard tab that the settings can be changed to help people with disabilities operate their keyboards better but if you hold down certian keys for more than a few seconds, Windows XP will activate these settings. Sounds like your son accidently turned on "FilterKeys" There is a check box on the Keyboard tab of Accessibility Options that turns off FilterKeys. If "Use FilterKeys" is checked, uncheck that box and then click "OK" and see if that helps.

Good Luck!

Acer extensa 5620 laptop cant get the @ button to come up

Sounds like your computer thinks got a foreign keyboard. (e.g. a US keyboard in the UK or vice versa).
On the UK keyboard "@" is two keys to the right of "L" (use shift) on the US keyboard it is on the "2" key.
Try that, if it works then it is just the settings. (Control panel -> locale I think, but you don't say which OS you're using).
