I have a c330 Garmin Street Finder, maps are 2 or 3 years old, I purchase the 2009 update disc from Wally World. Brought it home and have tried unsuccessfully to install it since the 2nd week of Nov, '08. I have the usb cord hooked up to the c330 and my pc. I have installed the disc that came with the c330 to be able to down load updates. I have the pass word and the unique usernamer that came with the disc from wal mart. u must go to www.mygarmin.com and register the unit with garmin, then select support, it will automatically detect the unit (u need to have a USB cable connected to the Garmin and your computer with internet up and running), follow directions on screen, if you need map update then there is a $125 charge to buy the download.
If you charged the GPS using the USB cable from a computer, this is too low a current for the size of battery that it has. You must use the dedicated AC charger, or the car charger.
If your unit has a battery in it that is older than about 3 to 4 years, it is possible that the battery is no longer able to hold the full charge.
The service rep for your GPS can change the battery for you if it is no longer holding the charge.
Unfortunately, the only way to transfer these addresses is one by one by hand. There is no way to connect the units and transfer them, or connect the unit to the computer and transfer the Recent Selections to it, and back to the new unit.
