Question about Air Conditioners

Furnance will not heat

I need a Trouble shooting manual for Model# RGUJ-05EA-ER RHEEM electric ignition GAS FURNACE.
Igniter turns red hot but the Gas Valve just shakes and makes a clicking sound and then the ignitor will go out.
Furnace does not fire up and fan does not kick in.
Gas valve is Honeywell Part# VR8205A 2008 reg 3.5 ADJ 3-5 Range 24V 60HZ total current .5 A uses class 2 transformer.
I also do not see any type of control board with a digital read out flashing any error code. Please Help.

Check your voltage going into the gas valve. It should be 24-27 volts. If it is to low the gas valve will chatter. If the voltage is strong enough you have a bad gas valve.

replace the gas valve....test for 24volt at the gas valve input.  if you have this then it's a def gas valve relay not working.

Rheem rgpe won't ignite. cleaned flame sensor - still won't light.

check to see if the hot surface igniter is coming on or if direct spark see if it is sparking to light if this is working then you are not getting gas from your gas valve. The board should be giving you code by blinking light. If you will count the blinks there should be a chart on the door to tell you what it means. HOPE THIS HELPS

You could have plugged orfices in the line coming out of the gas valve. Next you could have a plugged gas regulator. The only way your going to find this out is to check gas pressure before the gas valve during a call for heat and then check it after the gas valve during a call for heat you could have a bad gas valve. Try this let me know what you find Thanks and please leave feedback

The furnance runs fine for about 3min. Then the burners go out. The fan limit is still closed, pressure switch is pulled in, and the manuel reset switch on the flue is not tripped. What's causing the...

On a call for heat, the 24 volt thermostat sends a signal to the control module. The control module will indicate a call for heat with a light on the control either blinking or remain solid depending upon model. The inducer (exhaust) blower will purge all gasses from the furnace and pressurize a pressure switch. Once the pressure switch tells the module to continue, the electronic ignition will energize and send 120 volts to the igniter. The igniter will glow and you will be able to see it if viewed thru the small inspection port. Once the igniter gets hot enough, it sends a signal to the module opening up the gas valve (24 volts). Either a pilot will come on or the burner tube will ignite then spread the flame to all burners. Lastly a safety sensor will be looking for a certain temperature within a few seconds and the furnace will continue to operate and the room air blower will turn on in a minute or two.

What could go wrong? The unit will not run if there is no signal from the thermostat (bad thermostat or broken wire), the control module does not sense a signal from the thermostat (bad control), the inducer does not energize (bad motor), the pressure switch does not close (blocked vent piping, bad switch, plugged condensate hose), the igniter does not energize (bad control, bad igniter), the gas valve does not open or there is no gas (bad gas valve, broken wire, no gas), the pilot does not light (dirty pilot), the burner does not light (bad burner, plugged orifice, not enough combustion air), the flame does not spread to each burner (bad flame spreader, dirty flame spreader, more bad burners), the flame safety sensor does not detect flame (dirty or bad flame spreader, bad flame sensor, broken wire, bad control), or the room air blower does not energize (bad fan motor, bad control).

The exhaust blower starts for about 15 seconds then shuts off. several minutes later, the same thing happens - over and over

goodman furnance the exhaust fan starts, igniter glows hot, all burners lite up & will burn for about a minute and shuts down . I think it senses the room blower does not start so it shuts down.

Furnace will not light

What code is the control board flashing when it tries two or three times? Does it even fire? Does it go straight to fan and lockout?

. Several times of recyling power normally brings the furnance up. Though the failure code has always been 31, there are several different behaviour when the blower starts after reset :
a. blower simply creases.
b. there is an attempt to start the heating unit (I hear the high pitch noises), then everything stops.
c. there is an attempt to start the heating unit (I hear the high pitch noises), once I see the orange glow from the coil, normally the gas is lit up and the unit starts working.
