    To Guru Gink?,

My Konka is 32" LCD. Addendum:there is a line in the middle that divides the color intensity into two..Sometimes the trouble disappears after turning off and on, of the main cut-off switch.

    Thanks

I am not so sure but it might be a static charge
due to a static build-up on the screen (dust or something). Rubbing a wool cloth on the carpet and then across the screen will remove the charge and allow the panel to return to normal. Good Luck

I think the Konka Standard is a CRT TV, in this case the problem can be some bad solder joint on the flyback transformer, or a defective CRT. It is also possible a problem on one of the boards IC, I don't think convergence, unless instead of smudge you have bands at the side of the picture.
The first two options are more likely.

If the TV is not a CRT, things are different, but this tv should have CRT tube.

You will need a technician to repair this.

If the unit is only three months , see if there is a number on the user manual , and if there is a phone service number call it, and complain about the fault. TV sets are normally covered vs factory falts like this, considering that the tv is 3 months old.

    See here:

    "
    Konka provides a one-year
warranty for all electronic products (two-year warranty for EU). For
any product problem, we provide spare parts and technical support. "

Contact them here and have the repair covered by Konka.

Don't forget to leave me feedback on this.

Just one more thing, Konka number is in China, better to send them an email and ask the modalities to validate the warranty in Canada.

Give also a call to the retailer and ask, your TV has one year factory cover, and this must cover the repair expenses.

You will need to replace your two convergence I.C.s.They are two large IC mounted on a large aluminum heat sink.Replace both, look for any burned resistors near them, replace those if needed, and readjust your convergence. Good Luck

It sounds like bad solder connections in the convergence output circuit. It may also be an intermittant convergence output ic which will need to be replaced.

This sounds like one of the driver boards at the bottom or top of the screen has an intermittent fault. The set will have to be taken in to a service centre.
