The cool fuel pump pressure is 40 pounds...what is the likely problem?

check the airflow meter sensoe,could be distributor also if the fuel pressure is going down on acleration could be a blockage in the injectors on injector might be getting to much fuel or the airflow meteris playing up thats the best bet

The problem is usually the idle air bypass valve located on the throttle body, it's held in place with two bolt's, long cylinder in shape with one electrical connector .

CHECK COOLANT LEVEL.CHECK THERMOSTAT.IF TOP RADIATOR HOSE DONT GET HOT IN 10 MINUTES AFTER FIRST STARTING CAR IN MORNING .AND JUST THE BOTTOM HOSE.THERMOSTAT STICKING CLOSE.IF THERMOSTAT FINE.PROBLEM COULD BE CLOGGED RADIATOR OR ENGINE BLOCK CLOGGED OR FAULTY WATER PUMP.

You're getting a condition known as "vapor lock" or hydrostatic lock. This happens when you run your fule lines too close to a heat source (exhaust, engine, etc). You can solve it by re-routing it away from those heat sopurces...this should help.
