my burner will burn cds but not dvd. When it tells me to put an empty disc in and i do, the message The recorder does not support this tpye of disc comes up. ihave been using this brand of disc for a while and have had no previous problems.

1. Make sure discs are loaded the right way. Most, but not all, players load discs with the printed label on top.
2. If player has a transportation lock (usually a screw on the bottom of the unit), make sure it is not engaged.
3. Clean the laser lens.

brand new drive.... installed correctly.... very very slow when trying to read and opening disks..... disks do have data on them.... drive will not read... shows only blank...other drive in pc works fine and it's old

I purchased SONY DVD RW AW G 170A 10 months back.Initially it worked fine but after few months it performed so poorly that it cannot even read cd/DVD with, very or extreme minute scratch,clean surface.This case was with some of the cd/DVD although it can read some cd/DVD in wrost quality then above mentioned.It some times also does not recognizes the cd/DVD written or burned by itself.

I have an IBM Thinkpad that uses a Teac CD-W28E CD-RW Burner, and it will not read any dics.

I have DVD-RW LG 4167b OEM,but computer recognizing the drivers as Samsung HD 120IJ. before it worked well but last time it can't read any cd/dvd.. Might read once a day and other times it doesnt work at all.The dvd burner even not running.I tried to uninstal and reboot computer but nothing changes..The computer on it's garanty so i cant open it.Should i bring it to the shop or i can slove this problem myself?? Help please!
