Camera on phone will not zoom

To solve this problem click on call log,click button left of roller ball,scroll down to options and select.click general options, choose the option to be changed,click left of roller ball and change.

I cannot zoom in or out on camera or video on y Blackberry Edge 8900. Any help appreciated. Fedo

The first time this happened to me - I took the battery out - when put back in the zoom worked again. After a while the zoom stopped working and just now my rollerball wouldn't scroll down. I tried the solution posted about taking the battery out and doing a figure of 8 with phone facing down on a printed page - it fixed both problems. I hope this helps.

Have you cleaned your roller ball? stick a paper clip point in the top of the metal ring and pop your ball and holder out. you can remove the plastic part from the ring and clean the parts wth compressed air and then a cotton swap dipped in rubbing alcohol.

It may be a software issue that can be resolved by reinstalling the device operating system.

As long as you are at it, what operating system is on your bb? Click Options, about to check. Go to the blackberry website and check if there are updates to the operating system on your device. It might be worth updating your operating system. RIM addresses bugs with the new updates and they are free.

When my camera stops zooming, I take the battery out and put it back on... this usually solves the issue.

Use the scroll ball .. thats what zooms it.

All you have to do is take a sheet of paper with print on it. Take the battery out of you phone. Next do a figure eight motion with the ball side down on the phone about 10 times. There is something on the ink on the paper that will make this work again. good luck

The ball died. If the phone is still under warranty, you need to get it replaced at ATT. The trackball on Blackberrys do go bad from time to time just as they do on Sidekicks and various other phones with a clickball.

Cleaning the roller ball with a lint free cloth seems to work pretty well. Lock the hand held and then just go to town on the roller ball with the lint free cloth.
