This kenmore model 151.19141 is used made for doing work in a dress factory.
Sorry to say this if you are using heavier thread, like a 69 core thread, it will not work on this machine.
This machine is not suitable for marine fabric .

The problem is quite complicate for two reasons, first I don't know how thick and resistent the Sunbrella dodger is. Then the specs for this particular model does not seem to easy to find (see here)

It should be a version of the model Kenmore 158.19141 (151 and 158 models are equivalent).

Lets sort out this problem on a simple way, call Sunbrella at Exclusive Fabrics at 800-759-9808.

And ask Sunbrella what need le is required to sew their Dodger.

I'm confused. I want a machine that sews normal needs. Including upholstery fabrics. And embroidery stitches

Well, you may have to compromise somewhere. Most household sewing machines have difficulty sewing heavy upholstery fabric. Computerized machines are not built as sturdy and will not hold up as well as mechanical machines when sewing heavy fabrics. Many people sewing upholstery will elect to purchase an older mechanical sewing machine, most made prior to the 1970's, that are all metal. Some of the older mechanical machines will include some fancy design stitches built-in or with removable cams (Pfaff, Kenmore, Necchi, Singer come to mind, but there are many more). You may want to visit a sewing shop and ask about what mechanical machines are available and tell them what you are looking for.

If you want to do fancy embroidery that is the craze right now, you will want a computerized embroidery machine that will use computer programmed designs, usually on memory sticks, etc. However, depending on how and how much you plan to use embroidery, your cost could be anywhere from ~$1500 to $15,000. Oh the other hand, you would not want to use this machine to create upholstery projects.

How to adjust pressure foot on a Baby Lock BL6300?

Find the pressure adjuster on the top of your sewing machine. It is typically a screw or thumb screw, a dial or a metal plunger approximately 1 inch long.
Adjust the pressure, based upon the type of fabric you plan on sewing. Lighter fabrics use more pressure than heavier ones because they slip around more during sewing. Your normal pressure tension is typically set for medium-weight, non-stretchy fabrics.

I am trying to sew a boat canvas top with sunbrella canvas. my top stitch is beautiful but the bottom stitch is loose and messy. Is this just a tension adjustment and if so what should I be adjusting?

Try adjusting the top tension dial to tighten up the loose stitching on the underside. Generally if you have loose threads underneath, its the top tension and visa versa.

However, if you are using a thread heavier than normal sewing thread through the needle and bobbin (which you probably need for this canvas) then the machine may struggle. I've sewed vinyl seat covers and gave up with my domestic machine and purchased a second hand industrial Singer machine 20U to cope with this heavier weight textile. Generally for anything heavier than upholstery fabric a domestic machine may not be strong enough.

Machine jamming

Hi! It's possible that the thread is too heavy, but there are other possibilities also. What size needle are you using? Is it a leather/vinyl needle? Also, it could be a tension problem, so try adjusting that on a scrap of the vinyl.

I found this bit about marine threads (http://www.seattlefabrics.com/thread.html). There are different sizes/weights of marine threads and it could be that you need to find a different marine thread.

Hope this helps!

I am sewing on "WeatherMax" fabric (making golf flags) - an outdoor, lightweight, material; in the wind my fabric is fraying and splitting. Was it the needle? Is it the fabric? is it the machine? Did I cut...

Hi. Interesting problem. For outdoor materials (and advise on sewing on outdoor materials) I rely on Sailrite (http://www.sailrite.com/) and interestingly, couldn't find Weathermax fabric on their site. I would contact their forum (http://forum.sailrite.com/) and ask the question there. Matt Grant (I think he runs the sewing part of the forum) is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Sorry I don't have anything more for you,
