Question about EliteGroup P6IWP-Fe Motherboard

P6IWP-Fe power up problem

I'am in big trouble. Can anybody help me with my PC with P6IWP-Fe mainboard. When I turn on the power after about 3-4 sec machine turns itself off. There is no healthy "beep" signal on start up. HDD and power supply are changed. Any sugestions ?

Try to change RAM first..if not worked then the processor ...

#1. The heat bond between the processor and heat sink fails (Cracks) and the CPU overheats and powers down. Pop the CPU straps use a razor blade to scrap of the tin bond off put some heat sink grease on the CPU and reinstall.

#2. Check and replace the switching caps for the Core and 5 Vdc. Replace the caps left of L8, 1000 Mfd @ 6.3 VDC. EliteGroup used a low grade cap. The high ESR heats the caps and kills them. If you do not have a in curcit ESR meter, look for a rounded top on the cap and replace it.

This has fixed 9 out of 10 boards. Digikey has good low ESR caps you can order.

P6IWP-Fe rev 2.0 the computer detects ports but when I connect any USB memory does not even recognize any connected device not I opened the cpu and some of the capacitors are split and I wonder how I can...

i dont know about fixing the capacitors

you might have to install a usb 2 or 3 card they are cheap and easy to install you can buy these on Ebay very cheap

correodemie, Your ACER AL2016 will need to have it's "switch-mode-power-supply/CCFL inverter supply" trouble shooted and repaired. DIY repair cost less than $30. Out of warranty service $35 to $75, more if circuit board replaced. Read my and other techs FIXYA profiles to discover all the options you have for your BLACK screen symptom. Motherboard manual

There's two versions of your motherboard listed version 1.0a and version 2.0 i've listed the links for updated software, drivers, bios and manuals for both, though version 1.0a doesn't have a listing for a downloadable manual it has all the other bits and pieces, i've also listed the link to help you identify which version your mainboard is:

No sound, No video, power LED blinking 3 times

had the same problem with mine and I replaced horizontal deflection transistor located by the high voltage tranformer, its the big transistor by the heatsink, check for any shot and replace if you find problem. worked for me
