Error *41 is a wrong paper size or type error. Make sure that you have chosen the correct paper size and type in the printer configuration. Easiest way to get there is through any application going FILE > PRINT > Configure.

If deleting from the queue does not get rid of the error, on the printer two resets are also available.

    #6 is a partial reset

    #9 is a full reset

My apologies...The print queue is a place where the print jobs are stored until the printer is ready to deal with them, these are tracked on the computer not the printer. You can see the queue in most Windows operating systems by going START > Settings > Printers. When you double click the printer your trying to print to you'll get a list of pending print jobs. If these are backed up you are not going to be able to print until they are gone. So you click on each job and hit the delete key. Once these jobs have gone to the printer the computer can no longer manage them, so then the next step if the first doesn't work is to clear the printer, this can be done with a reset. I believe you can just hit #6 enter or #9 enter on the printer. However, I would suspect that once you clear the job in queue that is trying to print to the wrong paper size, type, etc. that you may be good to go.

It's possible that the system board is damaged. Do you have it on any type of surge protection?

HP 6310 All-in-One. How do I get a fax confirmation?

If you need printed confirmation that your faxes were successfully sent, follow these instructions to enable fax confirmation before sending any faxes. Select either On Fax Send or Send & Receive.

The default fax confirmation setting is Off. This means that the HP All-in-One will not print a confirmation report for each fax sent or received. A confirmation message indicating whether a fax was successfully sent appears briefly on the display after each transaction.

To enable fax confirmation from the control panel

1. Press Setup.

2. Press 2, and then press 3.

This selects Print Report and then selects Fax Confirmation.

3. Press to select one of the following, and then press OK.

Off Does not print a fax confirmation report when you send and

receive faxes successfully. This is the default setting.

On Fax Send Prints a fax confirmation report for every fax you send.

Fax

On Fax Receive Prints a fax confirmation report for every fax you receive.

Send & Receive Prints a fax confirmation report for every fax you send and

receive.

I have two problems with my OfficeJet 6310: 1. The fax screens appear Hebrew. Similary, If I try to use the copier from the printer. This is continuously caused by HP Update 2. I can not send out a...

Use the HP Fax Test
The telephone number for this service is 1-888-HPFaxme (1-888-473-2963). The fax service receives faxes and returns faxes within 5 to 7 minutes to the number contained in the fax header. Solution two: Run a fax diagnostic test
  1. Load plain white paper into the input tray.
  2. Press the Setup button (c01669474.gif ) on the product control panel.
  3. Press the right arrow (c01669475.gif ) to select Tools , and then press OK .
  4. On the Tools menu, press the right arrow (c01669475.gif ) to select Run Fax Test , and then press OK . The fax diagnostic test prints.
Solution three: Check the telephone line and change the HP fax settings Step one: Test the telephone line
  1. Disconnect the telephone cord from the back of the HP fax product.
  2. Figure 1: Two-wire telephone cord c01501963.gif
  3. Pick up the handset of the telephone and check for a dial tone.
  4. On the single-line telephone, dial the fax number of the receiving fax machine.
    • If the receiving fax machine answers the call, continue with the next step.
  5. Hang up the single-line telephone.
  6. Use a second telephone line or a cellular telephone to call the telephone number assigned to the HP fax product.
Step two: Change the HP fax settings
  1. Connect phone line into line 1
  2. Press the Setup button (c01669474.gif ) on the product control panel.
  3. Press the right arrow (c01669475.gif ) to select Basic Fax Setup or Advanced Fax Setup , and then press the right arrow (c01669475.gif ) again to change the menu option settings to the settings listed in the following table. Fax menu Fax menu option Setting Basic Fax Setup Rings to Answer 1 or 2 (At least one more ring than a telephone answering machine, if an answering machine is connected.) Advanced Fax Setup Answer Ring Pattern All Rings
  4. Use the HP Fax Test Service to try to send and receive a fax.
If the HP fax product still cannot send or receive a fax, continue to the next solution. Solution four: Check VoIP digital telephone line Using a VoIP telephone service can cause faxing to fail because fax transmissions are sensitive to the timing of the signals used to transmit the fax. If using a VoIP digital line is necessary, changing the Fax Speed Adjustment setting to Medium might improve the ability to send a fax over a VoIP telephone line. Use these steps to change the fax speed adjustment to a lower speed.
  1. Press the Setup button (c01669474.gif ) on the product control panel.
  2. Press the right arrow (c01669475.gif ) to select Advanced Fax Setup , and then press OK .
  3. Press the right arrow (c01669475.gif ) to select Fax Speed , and then press OK .
  4. Press the right arrow (c01669475.gif ) to select Medium , and then press OK .
  5. Use the HP Fax Test Service to try to send and receive a fax

My new 6310 HP won't receive faxes.

Hi

when you installed did you get the fax setup wizard during the installation. If not, you can get it by opening hp solution center-> settings-> fax settings-> fax setup wizard.
You can have the HP solution center icon in the desktop or try with hp Director.

if not you can look at the
hard-copy user guide walks you through all the setup variations, depending on what type of line you have, what components (answering machine, for example), and how you want to handle incoming calls and faxes.

Good Luck
