This is something best handled by a tub resurfacer. It is an area of specialized repair. Results varied depending on material tub is made of. Cast iron tubs Show repair more so than fiberglass. Check for tub resurfacing in Repair Service Link.

How to clean a whirlpool bath tub

There are three main things to tackle when cleaning a hot tub or whirlpool bath. Those things are:

1. Bacteria
2. Grease
3. Grime and dirt

To address all three of these issues you'll likely need separate products. There are liquid versions of the degreaser and cleaner, and there are tablet versions for sanitizing.

Simply fill up the whirlpool bath with warm water, put the cleaning liquid in the cleaning outlet (or if you don't have this, just pour it into the bath). Put the tablet in the bath and then just run it.

This should do the job.

I want to clean the jets in my tub they look mouldy

Cleaning your Tub
There are several options for cleaning the piping on a jetted bathtub.
The reason you have a residue on the bathtub surface when you are done bathing is because there is bacteria built up in the plumbing of the jetted tub. In order to remove that and reduce the amount of "yucky stuff" coming into the tub when using it, we recommend a regular usage of a jet cleaning product about once every couple of months
Here is a link at the bottom to the cleaning products I can find right now. There may be others out there that I am not aware of but I do know these products work well in all jetted bathtubs.

Oil type substance is streaking down the side of the tub and apperars to be coming out of the jets any ideas how to fix it

This sounds like bacteria coming from the water lines. When was the last time you ran a cleaner through the jets?
You should run a good Jet Clean type product of Maintenance Product in order to prevent the build up of bacteria in the water lines when the bath tub is not in use.

How to replace broken jet nozzles in whirlpool tub

Hopefully your tub is not too old because this will make replacing the nozzles very difficult as they are no longer made.
If in fact you have a Jacuzzi Brand bath you can get what is still available for bath jets here. The diagrams will give you an idea of how they come apart.

I have been told there is a way to adjust bath tap temperature under the bath is this true? Thanks

Yes and no, depends on what tub you have and what is underneath. Most tubs have the filler spouts up top like a regular old tub. If you want more hot water, you just open up the hot water, but if your tub fills from the bottom somehow, or has a heating unit in it, then it can be adjusted. It has a motor under there for pumping the water around. It is in a trap door on the tub or the tub surround. You will have to peek in there to see if there is a water valve with thermostat of some sort. I have never seen one, but you never know. Hope this helps.

How to replace the rubber washer of a bath tub overflow? The washer is beveled. Does the thick part goes on top or on the bottom?

The thick part goes to the bottom side of the opening. It is made that way to conform to the slope of the back of the tub to make it seal better.

I know I can take a bath without turning on the jets. However; does the bath water with soap flow back into the jets? I like bubble baths, If I leave the jets off can I use the bubble bath without having...

The soapy water will fill all of the jets, tubes and the pump assembly. Will it hurt the tub if the jets are not running? The soap film will build up in the jets, tubes and pump assembly and can possibly cause damage if the tub is run at a later date. Contact the tub manufacture and see if there is a safe bubble bath you can use.

Difference tubs and air baths

whirlpool tub has jets that circulate the water, where an air bath uses bubbles that rise gently from the bottom of the tub. Whirlpools are typically used for therapy, air baths are used for a much gentler experience. Air baths can be used with aromatherapy/essential oils. Both offer a spa-like experience.
