Re: I don't have a cd installation ...have no idea how to...

You probably dont need to get any cd, but here is a basic setup. 1. First reset router to factory specs..there is probably some sort of reset hole on the router. With router disconnected Stick paper clip inside and hold while you turn back on router about 10 seconds. 2. Next with computer and Modem turned off plug the Ethernet cable from the modem to the WAN port on the router. 3. Next plug an ethernet cable from the router to the PC. 4. Turn on Modem, then PC it should get you on the internet. 5. Usually the Wireless portion is defaulted to ON, so knowing you have a wired connection, you can now try with your wireless device. 6. Windows will find this signal and it will give you an option to connect to it. When you get an IP address, you will be on. To get into more advanced setup, you will need to get into the router. Try It you should be alright

What i neet to download to install wireless

The router should have came with a CD to install on your desktop or laptop. All you need to do is make sure you have a wireless card in your computer. If you still have questions please make another post with what your computer is (make and model) so we can help you out more.

Cant get accesss to the configuration window

In order to get to the AP, and assuming you just plugged it in, you need to put everything in the 192.168.0.x domain. The AP defaults to, so you need to make sure that the router gives out IP addresses that does not include 0.50, or change the IP address of the AP. Likewise, the computer you are trying to log into the AP needs to start in the 192.168.0.x domain, with x being anything but the gateway address (normally 1), or 50.

My guess is you have a router built into the modem and it is giving out different addresses. You can set your network address by hand to be 192.168.0.pick a number like 5 and plug into the ethernet port of the AP (may need a crossover) to get to it.

Post back and let us know what you found.

Can't get the wireless modem to work

I just looked at the manual and it states on page 5 that the setup CD requires Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5.
Maybe that is causing your problem. (get the manual here.)

But in general you do not need a setup CD or any other fancy software. You can configure your router straight from the web browser. For the configuration I would always use a cable connection and not do it via wireless. (look at page 8 of the manual!)

When you go to (or http://dsldevice.lan), did you log in? The default user is ‘Administrator’ and the default password is blank.
I read in another blog that someone had to log in with:

"The user name is: Administrator
and the password is the units serial number
CPxxxxxxxxx up to but EXCLUDING [ - the left square bracket".
---That sounds weird to me but maybe it helps.

DWL2000AP+ install

Whats the exact problem does it not connect at all?

Most routers don't need a disk to install anything.

Just plug everything in go to START click CONTROL PANEL go to NETWORK CONNECTION see if you have any connection at all. If you do your router could be blocking incoming data from the internet or other computers connected.

However in doing some research in your stated problem i did find drivers. They can be downloaded at the link below.

This may not be what you need but let me know and i'll try to find what you are actually looking for.

Download Network Magic (no need to buy, free one will work) once installed look at your network map, you should see your router click on it and note the IP address. Type this address into your browser.

Trying to instal wireless router

Hi Jwsgrl,

Did you buy the router new or used?

if used it might still have the old user settings on it that sometimes requires MAC addy's to be registered on the wireless access point site ( If this is the case then hit the restart button while the router is on to default all settings.

the default login and pw for linksys is:
User Name: admin
Password: admin

You probably already have it set up since you followed the instructions but it never hurts to mention:
1. Make sure that your modems Ethernet line is connected to your wireless router Ethernet port, then using the 1 of 4 open jacks on the router connect #1 to your computers Ethernet Pprt.

let me know how i can assist you further.

Hooking up my gaming router

There is a 90 % possibility that the wireless settings on the gaming adapter and the router are not the same. Try to reconfigure this again. Remember that the gaming adapter's wireless settings needs to synchronize with that of the router to make the gaming adpater works. Call netgear and verify the settings on your wireless connection and reverify the settings you have on the adapter. For manual instructions, see user guide at
