Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

We have been happy with our Brother color laser printer. It takes TN04 cartridges. Its the cleaning fluid that has just run out. Where do I order that from. Hoe often must I empty it.

Hello,

You have raised a question that is rarely seen. This generally comes up with people who remanufacture printers and toner cartridges.

So, in this respect, have you a reservoir on your printer that you have been filling? Or is this a cleaning solution to wipe down the paper path and toner bay?

The most common method is to use 99% Isoprophyl alcohol except you do not use this on rubber rollers. You can get his in 1 gallon containers at a hardware store.

There are a few companies that sell cleaners that are safe to use inside a printer. If this is what you are looking for, its the same cleaner that's used to clean ink cartridges before refilling them.

This web site here has this product which will be safe to use in cleaning your cartridges and the inside of your laser printer. And is safer than using Isoprophyl alcohol. You'll notice a phone you can call at this company. You may want to phone them about your printer. My research has produced no results for a cleaning cartridge for your printer.

I'm a printer repair specialist and have been doing this since 1993. Let me know what concerns or quesitons you may still have and I'll be glad to work with you to resolve your situation.

Regards,
Worldvet

I have a brother mfc 5890cn and I am not able to print anything in black. The cartridge is brand new and I have cleaned the head several times. The other colors print out just fine.

You could clean the black ink cartridge. For this you need to remove the black ink cartridge which is present in the printer. In order to clean the laser or scanner block you could use a cotton swab as it would fully clean the dirt. You need to clean the grime and the dried ink present in the printer. This would remove all the hindrances which prevent the ink from flowing. Cleaning the printer heads would also help to solve the problem.

Black dots on printed page from Brother 9440 color laser printer

The problem lies with the black toner cartridge. This is a common problem in these machines due to poor design by Brother. Best solution is to replace the offending color toner cartridge.

Getting ink splatters on copies

That is normal with this printer. I own a Cartridge World ink and toner refilling store and we've found that the new Brother color laser machines (that take the TN-110 or TN-115) drop toner speckles onto the pages. This is because the cartridges were designed poorly. We do not recommend new Brother color laser machines for this reason.

Samsung clp300 color laser printer not printing

The cartridge dried out and the moisture/liquid sensor will no longer detect new fillings though the layer. A good refill needs to be done before the ink is out. These are tedious little critters. Try the nozzle cleaning procedure several times(through your printer's software. Take out the cartridge and set the jets on a cotton ball soaked liberally with cleaning fluid. Run the nozzle cleaning procedure again.

Brother mfc MFC-5440CN magenta issues

If you have used generic ink the head is clogged and cant be cleaned anymore.

Last chance is to use original brother ink which has cleaning fluids within the ink. Run the cleaning procedure twice and simply print 10 PAGES afterwards. Wait A DAY AND TRY TO PRINT IN MAG AGAIN:

If there will be no mag. the ph is definitley clogged and needs replacement.

Printer doesn't recognize red cartridge

The ink cartridge is either either clogged or running out of ink. Run the software cleaning utility (almost always accessible from the printer) in order to fix a clog. Replace the ink cartridge if the clog cannot be fixed or if the cartridge is almost empty.
