Well, my hard drive died so i bought a new one and had it installed. it works fine. the problem is that i lost my recovery cd. my sister had a recovery cd for toshiba that says for m40/m45 series, so i figured i could use this. since i replaced the harddrive, i turned on my laptop and the toshiba screen pops up but when i put the recovery disk in i get a message that says "invalid system disk". i ordered a new cd/dvd internal drive (because i suspected it was broken or something) and the new cd/dvd drive gives me the same message. i went in the BIOS menu and put my cd/dvd drive to boot first, and still nothing..just the invalid system disk error. i inserted the cd on my boyfriend's toshiba and got an error message saying it was the wrong model disk, so this verifies to me that the disk is working.
SO what is wrong with my computer and why can't it boot the recovery disk and why do i keep getting the invalid system disk error? i can't get it to do anything except that message. i know the hard drive is working because before my old hard drive died, my computer wouldn't even turn on and now at least the toshiba screen pops up, but then all i get is the black system disk error screen after that. PLEASE HELP!
