There's a couple of possibilities: either they aren't there, or they're there but you can't see them. Looking at the disc from different machines (e.g. Mac and PC) should give you some idea. Out-of-date versions of MSCDEX have been known to "forget" certain files when browsing a disc. If you're using DOS or are using the "real mode" drivers from within Win95, make sure you're using the most recent version of MSCDEX. Old versions of certain CD creation programs would occasionally omit things when asked to burn a large number of files. These problems haven't been reported for some time, however. If you were burning a multi-session CD, read the next section.

This is common on CD's with multiple sessions burnt to a single CD. What happens is the files that are burned to the CD during the last session do not show up. This is due to the fact that CD session not being finalized/closed. If the session was finalized/closed some CD's have problems reading multiple session CDs so in order to see all the files you must finalize/close the whole CD. In doing so you should be able to read all the data.
Please note this is for CD-R's or DVD-R's that have more then one session. This has nothing to do with CD-RW's. Thanks.

I have same pictures in a folder, which are already burned some weeks back in a writable CD.It nearly have 300 MB of memory sowed in properties. Today i burned a small notepad of size 10 KB. After that when I opened the CD it is only showing the notepad. The 'properties' is also showing just 10KB. But when we manually viewed, it is showing half of the CD is filled. Can any body suggests how can i get those pictures back.
