My_yahoo home pages displays slowly...''back'' is slow/hangs
I use my_yahoo.com as my home page in iexplorer. Lately, the home page loads slowly and the ''backspace'' when used doesn't take me back. I believe some sort of malware or advertising site is being accessed.
I do not have this problem, when I use my_yahoo from another computer, just my home machine.
I use Norton Internet Security and do frequent scans for items...they all come up clean.
Do you know what might be causing the slowness or what is being accessed?
Re: my_yahoo home pages displays slowly...''back'' is...
Try firefox for your browser...this is a option for you to use...if not happy just go back to your IE. Yahoo in the past 4 years to me has had many page loading problems for me an I think this to be server related as they do have 4 servers that have to back up one server, if that server is down...on that note: Try firefox. Also clear your cookies and your registry and Temporary Internet files. Click tools up top and check your internet options.

You can set yahoo.com as your home page in your browser by setting it as the default in your browser settings:
For instance, if you are using Internet Explorer as your browser, start up (launch) your IE browser, Click on the "Tools" tab on the far right (top) corner of the page - to see a drop-down window; select/click on "Internet Options" to open up a window. At the top box (General tab) ... you can enter the URL address of the home page ... i.e. www.yahoo.com Then, click Apply ... and OK
From then on, whenever you start up (launch) your IE browser, it will display the www.yahoo.com page.
This can also be done for other (common) browsers, like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc. If you are using one of these other browsers and would like specific step-by-step instructions, simply indicate so in your follow-up comments.
Your Home Page Nevr Being Changed

Some websites illegally modify your registry editor and set their website as default home page, for stop this,

1. Right-click on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and select "Properties".

2. In the "Target" box you will see "C:\Program Files\Internet

Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE".

3. hi this is kamal. pls do these steps: 1. Close all browser windows and open a new one. 2. Clear your browser's cache including temp files, cookies, and history. If you do not know how then follow the instructions on the help page for the specific browser and browser version you are using: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browse? 3. Close that browser window and reboot your computer. Open a new browser window and sign into your Yahoo Mail here: http://mail.yahoo.com/ 4. If you are still having a problem with the website, try an alternative browser such as Firefox. It is always good to have an alternative browser so you can test and check to see if your problem is browser specific. Here is the link to get Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ie.? Who is your ISP, contact them and report slow pages loading. Have you tried this on another computer on a differnt network? Slow pages loading is the result of either a slow internet connection or a busy network. Time of day also affect the quality of your connection to a free service.
