Question about Apple iPod nano

Nano 4th, black screen, does noting, tried restore no luck

Hey peeps,

one month ago, I bought this nana. Now it only gives me blank (black) screen.
Itunes somethimes finds it when hooked up, but after pressing the restore button it tells me it takes data off, but never goes on or asks me which exchange I want.

I did all the recomendet things like double button holding and even toggled with the on/off swich.

I am about to take a hammer to it, so if you have any more ideas, PLEASE help me out!

Go to the settings and check the brightness. If you can't even do anything with it charge it. But make sure you always turn off your ipod when your done with it

Try this to reset the iPod nano:
Hold down the Menu button on the clickwheel and the center button at the same time. Hold these
together for 6-10 seconds. This should restart the iPod nano.

For more information, check out this troubleshooting page:

If that doesn't work, you might need to restore the firmware on your iPod. There are instructions here:

Hi,
This happened to me. For some reason, these ipods go into a deep sleep sometimes. Make sure that the hold switch it is off. Try holding down the menu button until it comes on. If it doesn't come on with that try holding down the select (middle) button until it starts up.

Try the Five R's suggested by your user's manual - you can get the manual from Apple's website if you have lost it:
Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore
Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with your iPod nano. If
one of the following doesn’t help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
â Reset your iPod nano. See “General Suggestions,” below.
â Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod nano in iTunes.
â Restart your computer and make sure you have the latest software updates
installed.
â Reinstall iPod and iTunes software from the latest versions on the web.
â Restore your iPod nano. See “Updating and Restoring iPod Software” on page whatever.
