My phone is sending every text message that I send out through SMS and it splits up my text message on the other end how do I stop this

SMS stands for SMALL Message System.

If you texts are as long as emails, they will be broken up. Long messages should go via email. Contact your carrier to ask what their character limit is on SMS. It should be 160 max.
160 characters Sending email to SMS is free for the sender, but the recipient is subject to the standard delivery charges. Only the first 160 characters of an email message can be delivered to a phone, and only 160 characters can be sent from a phone. Text-enabled fixed-line handsets are required to receive messages in text format.

Why text messages are limited to 160 characters

Why is my brand new Alcatel phone putting in strange symbols when I send a text if its more than 160 characters?

My Samsung cell phone limits me to 140 characters so this is not unheard of. I split my messages to under 140 and ask people who need to write a veritable epistle to do so by email because my phone cuts vital pieces when it chops messages up on receipt.

I receive emails on my mac and some I forward to friends, but their unable to open them youtube etc and ask I send again but when I try I cannot open either. Please Help

Hi Richard. Thers a good chance you have mail preferences setup to compose new emails in "plain text". And/Or, "Use the same message format as the original message", meaning if you reply to someone who sent you an email that is in Rich Text Format, then your reply will be in Rich Text Format but, if they send you an email in Plain Text Format, then your reply, and possibly any forwarding will be sent in Plain Text also.

For website addresses to be "clickable links" in mail, you need to ensure all emails you send, forward, or reply are in Rich Text Format.
go to Mail... Preferences... then select the Composing tab and ensure Message Format is set to "Rich Text".
Further below in the same tab you will see "Responding" and a tick box for Use the same message format as the original message (Respond using Rich or Plain Text).
If you always want to respond or forward in Rich Text only and every time, then deselect that option.
All links should work and be clickable from then onwards.

You can highlight a non working website link in the email body, right click, then select "Link" then "Add Link" to make it clickable but, you will receive a notification about converting this message to rich text format?"

Basically, the links will not be clickable if you are setup to compose new emails in Plain Text. Nor will any replies or forwards you send that are changing to Plain Text to match the format received by you from others.
Always end, reply and forward in Rich Text Format

Hope that helps.
Regards
Paul

It takes almost all day just to send pictures on the text messaging. If I just send a text its sent that quick but a picture how do I fix that?

When you send text, you are sending very few bytes (8 bit character representation), basically one for each character you type. When you send a photo, say a 12 MB one, you are sending 12,000,000 bytes of information encompassing many packets instead of just one for SMS. And of course it takes longer. If you are wifi-ing it, takes longer and sometimes the carrier charges you per picture. My guess is you don't have full signal bars either. In other words, you can't, really.

Accidentally sending multiple copies of text

I was having this very same problem with my brand new Propel. It seems that the longer the message is, the phone will split it into multiple messages, because it starts at 1 and as I continue typing it increments the number of messages to be sent. If I delete some characters, then the number of messages goes down. I seems like it allows about 160 characters per message.

What I'm still confused about it why it is driving your friends crazy. Are they getting the full message multiple times? I would think they would get multiple messages with a portion of your message in each. Are they getting the messages out of order?

Problem of diacritic characters in Pagemaker

You can't reliably open/paste text from Microsoft applications into PageMaker. I know exactly what is happening, I see it a bit, and the only solution is to replace those characters.
Are you aware of the ASCII Character Code table set - Firstly, are you on Mac or PC, this bit's for PC users. There is a huge array of 'hidden' characters on any typing application that will be produced from Windows using the ASCII Character table by holding down the Alt key and at the same time typing a number on the keypad; such as Alt+156 will give you the pounds character (£). You should be able to open a "Charset" file from C:Programs\Adobe\Pagemaker\Extras folder which will be the table of ASCII characters you can use. NOTE:: by default PM6.5 install the folder will be in C:\PM65\Extras.
Failing this, you will have to look up (or create, as I did) a character font list like Dingbats or Symbols or Wingdings to find the character you need.
Yes, you will have to manually fix any shortfalls in the text appearing on the page.
TIP:: When you have the MS Word document, save the file as TEXT ONLY and then from PageMaker "place" the text onto the page, it'll ask you to "Remove returns at ... end of every line" do NOT check this, no to remove returns = this method will give you the most accurate text imports, and none of the annoying MS Word type styles imported.

Delete message recipients

Go into a new text message and hit the "send to" option. Scroll down to the first name above the line and hit the "options" button. Scroll down and select "Recent messages" and choose whoever from that list that you'd like to be your top 3. I actually just sent all three of mine a blank text, but when I went back to the "send to" list voila! MORE INFO: I tried all kinds of things to remove names from my top three recipients list. What ended up working was to send a text to multiple recipients at once. Two was enough. But it was important who I selected first. I sent a message to my wife and my friend. My wife's name got added back to my top three! Then I reversed and sent a message to my friend and to my wife. His name got added back!
