Question about Dell PowerVault 100T DAT72 DAT Tape Drive
I change the tape once/week, and as regular maintaince I popped in a cleaning tape, and it just kept trying to get the tape into the drive and spitting it back out..not all the way out. So I ejected the tape, tried to put my cycle tape, and the same thing happened. I shut the drive off, and tried all of this over, and had the same trouble.
ps not a computer genius
Power off and on the tape drive
Inset a NEW Fresh out the Wrapper cleaning tape and see if that works!
Sounds to me like your existing cleaning tape has expired
If that fails then there could be a problem with the loading mech which is where you will need to send it away for repair.
Try www.tape-drive-repair.com for this as they are not expensive
