Fresh out of the box, I powered it up as it instructed, initially it didn't do anything, then got a 12 on the front panel, finally the door opened, inserted a CD properly, it rotated around as if it were going to play the CD. Now the CD is not in slot one, but in another slot and the machine won't do anything, also got a 11 on the front panel....any ideas or do I have to call JVC.

Solution: The carousel needs a good shaking in order to get the unit to perform. This solution may need to be performed whenever the unit fails to work properly.

Same problem... I get a 11, 12 or 13.. the real problem with me is that the unit is 3 years old... so much for a warranty.

I had the same problem - I sent the piece of junk back. In the manual, it tells you to disconnect and reconnect the AC power cord - that didn't work and after writing JVC, I didn't hear back, so the unit goes back. What a piece of crap.
