Question about Televison & Video
Thinking of replacing above color wheel. What is the level of difficulty and can the average Joe do it with your help?
I have also changed mine on my 51" Vivitek. I ordered mine from www.vancebaldwin.com after asking them which part # will fit my tv. The part # is:3250701500. I did read a couple of other people's experiences in changing their color wheel before I attempted. But it really comes down to taking off the back of your tv and looking around and seeing where things come from and where they go.
I even had to clean my new wheel as it was covered with some kind of static debris when I got it. I gave it a blast with a can of air and some liquid came out onto the wheel. Now, they warn you not to touch the wheel with your fingers as the oils on your fingers can effect the wheel. But, I had to get this liquid off so I used Windex on a Q-Tip and it worked fine.
I'd also be happy to help if you need any. Like the previous helper said, it is simple and you just take your time and get comfortable with it. It's your tv and it's fun to get to know it.
P.S. on www.vancebaldwin.com click on "guest" to sign in and then type your model# (RP51HD41A) into the corresponding search box and it will come up with a list of parts for your tv. After I bought my wheel a couple of weeks ago they had 3 left. After I recommended their site, they were out-of-stock quickly(maybe coincidence). As of last night they had 2 available.

It's not hard at all, trust me. but you have to go at it slowly when doing it for the first time. it's just about unscrewing and disconnecting wires. Nothing that is hard to reach either. I can help you step by step if you want, just email me.
However, my problem is to get the correct color wheel!!!! I have ordered twice from Vance Baldwin now and looks like they keep shipping me the wrong color wheel? first, the new color wheel does not look like the old one, then its wire connection is shorter making it harder to connect and then when done, the tv switches all the colors around: so red becomes blue and blue becomes red! what's going on???? I tried it twice with 2 new color wheel?I gave them the correct model number along with the serial number and they assure me the color wheel they shipped me is the correct one but I swear it is not!!!! so what's going on?
If anybody has an answer on how to deal with this, please let me know! here is my email:
