My new HP colour printer won't print!

I am trying to connect my brand new HP Colour Laserjet printer to my Apple iMac (which runs MacOs 10.5.5.   The power cable is connected, the green Ready' light is on and the USB cable is also connected to the computer and the printer.  The computer screen shows the HP Colour Laserjet printer in the Apple 'Dock' and on the screen that comes up when you want to print out.  BUT the printer doesn't print and I keep getting the message 'There is a problem communicating with the Printer' . Help PLEASE!!!

Iit was suggested that, once printer had been deleted, I could download a Printer driver from manufacturers website but....these were only for Windows/pc's NOT for Apple & MacOs. More help needed!!!

1. If a Communication Error message is displayed, click OK, and then check the interface cable type, all cable connections, and make sure that both PC and printer are on. Make sure that you use a shielded parallel interface cable that supports bi-directional communication.

HP colour laser jet CP2025. Prints colour on test sheet but not from pc. It was printing colour until wireless was installed - is there a connection?

Your driver is not sending color data. Either your driver is set to print in geayscale, or you are printing through a monochrome driver to the IP address of the CP 2025

My printer is hp laserjet cp 1515n. After printing some documents it writes "printing cool down mode" and begins working very slowly. Please help me

1515n - I have the Magenta colour 'shadowing' the blue test. A mirror image of the blue text. [slightly staggered] Black is fine. Applies to all Word docs when printing in blue - can you help please?
I only use genuine cartridges.

Cannot print in black because color cartidge is out of ink

There is a 'low toner' override in the menu system, but if this has NOT been set already, a 'flag' will be set on the chip on the cartridges that are low/empty.

The printer needs to 'see' cartridges that are usable, i.e. NOT empty, in order to function.

It is possible to replace just the chips on the colour cartridges, but then any colour printing quality could be compromised of course, as the colours will be low/empty. You would then be able to use the printer as if it were a mono laser, just changing the black cartridge when needed

Hp color laserjet 2600 n it will not let me print

There is an override sequence and it works well. Press the select button (checkmark) to indicate Main menu. Press right-arrow (RA) to select System Setup. Press Select , then RA to Print Quality, Hit select. RA to Replace supplies and hit Select. Now, RA to Override Out and Select. Confirm with Select again. Your 2600n will now run even with an empty toner cartridge.

Printer is refusing to print colour, with full colour ink tank.

Have you checked the ink levels in your cartridges? Ink can dry due to usage and also due to prolonged non usage.

Not really a solution....this HP Colour Laserjet CP1215 printer works only in a Windows environment and is not compatible with Mac Os so I had to get another one and got pretty mad with PC World 'adviser' (?!)  who'd recommended the HP printer!!!

HP 2600N LASER PRINTER

You can try going into your print settings/preferences and checking magenta only. printers you need to keep a watchful eye on your ink levels, because if you are out of ink, you can not print in ANY color, even black.

If the above thing not works You can begin by making sure you are not using anything above 24-bit colour (RGB) in Word.

Also: Word does not use a colour profile. It doesn't make any changes to
the colour, so it doesn't compensate at all. The only colour profile
between Word and the printer is your Printer's colour profile.

Hope this helps

Why is it printing only black? I have a 12A Q2612A cartridge installed

This printer is a MONO laserjet printer meaning it can only print in black colour.

If you want a fax/copy/printer that does colour you would need something like a HP Colour Laserjet 2840.
