Question about Epson Stylus Photo 1290 InkJet Printer
Black cartridge was empty. I followed the software procedure to change it (open the print cover, than click on 'ok'; take off the empty cartridge, than click on 'ok', put the new cartridge and press the clip till hear 'click'. Done. at this point the software doesn't shows the OK button, it remains gray) so I closed the window stopping the procedure. Now the printer put out this message " the black ink cartridge doesn't installed properly".
what should I do? i tried more times to do againg the procedure. but every time at the same point the software doesn't shows the OK button.
Remove the black ink cartridge.
Check the place where the new cartridge should go. Check for a round small piece like a bushing or a little piece of pipe, stuck at the ink entrance of the printing head. This is a piece from the old cartridge, that sometimes gets loose and remains in place, and when the new one is placed, it doesnot go down to the right place to make contact with the electric connectors in the printing head.
If nothing solves...reinstall the printer drivers.
Good luck and Merry Christmas
