Could be hum from the system ( a ground loop or poor ground) or it could be the speakers are mounted loose and rattling.

I suspect it's engine noise in the system check all your grounds are solid and add a power filter to your stereo. you can pick one up at any car audio store or radio shack but be warned radio shack employees only know batteries and blank stares, so your probably on your own.

good luck

What size speakers are in the doors

  • The factory speakers are 6x9 BUT the magnet on the factory speakers are much smaller than on aftermarket, higher quality 6X9 speaker making it almost certain the window will not roll down after installing an aftermarket 6X9.

  • Most go with a 6X5 because they are a bit smaller and there is a wider variety of them. Where ever you go to purchase that speaker. make sure the measurements are taking real well if going with another 6x9. There is always the option of the factory 6x9 but a nice aftermarket will fit in there so long as you mind the size.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Driver side door making a popping noise when opening or closing. Lubed the hinge but it kind of sounds like it's coming from inside the panel

Check spacing between the front of the door and the
fender. The door could be pinching the fender when you open and close it. Hope this helps.

2001 EXPEDITON TRYING TO FIT 6X9 IN THE DOORS HOW CAN I MAKE THAT POSSIBLE WITH SAME DOOR PANELS

You can mount them on the inside of the door, a small bit of speaker may be a bit smaller than the opening but that way you can use the same door panel and you don't have to hog out the door at all. Shouldn't degrade the sound quality very much.

It is making a buzzing noise on freezer side that stops when u open the door but starts again when u close it

On some models of refrigerators, the evaporator fan (behind an access panel at the top of the freezer) shuts off when the door is opened. This fan may be making the buzzing sound.

You should be able to check by pushing in the door switch while holding the door open. The fan should come on; and, if the buzzing resumes, you know what is making the noise. The fan may be developing a problem. If it stops running, the cold air will not be distributed properly between the freezer and refrigerator.

VT Commodore 6x9 Speaker install

Hello taz_is_1,

Sure, it's OK as long as the new 6X9's are the same impedance as the door speakers.

Unless there are already wires and cutouts for rear shelf speakers, the installation will be pretty involved. And while I'm not sure of the Holden product, it's sister versions, Chevy Lumina and Omega, does not have such cutouts or wiring.

Wires going into the door interior for window controls, locks, and speakers will all be in a bundle and go from the vehicle frame into the door through a flexible rubber connector with grommets on both sides. You'll need to run your wires from the disconnected door speakers back through the same grommets to avoid pinching and damaging them. After you get them back into the vehicle interior, you can run them under the trim or carpet to the trunk area under the rear shelf. If you have never done such work before, I recommend you get someone who has to help you. You'll need to make an appropriately sized cutout to mount the 6X9's. And depending on the material, you may need some kind of reinforcement and/or spacers. Also, look out for anything underneath the trunk lid that may come into contact with the speakers. There's usually 2 metal rods than span the width of the trunk and run almost directly under the shelf. They will have to clear the speakers in order for the trunk to open and close properly.

It's more work than a simple speaker exchange with a good pair of aftermarket speakers. And the benefit is minimal. A really good set of 5 1/4, 6 1/2, or 6 3/4 Alpines, Bostons, or Infinitys will sound better than a mediocre set of 6X9's any day and you don't have to cut everything up to install them in most door openings.

Hope this helps.

Vent Control Noise Behind Glove Box

The noise is coming from the blend door motors.
All of the climate control doors (vents, defroster, temperature, recirculation etc) are controlled by electronic motors. As the motors age they tend to make a buzzing noise when they move.

There is a software upgrade that is available to minimize the noise, but it will always make the noise to some degree.

Hope this helps.

Buzzing noise when pressing start button

does the buzzing noise sound more like a hum, if so could be a bad motor or possibly something stuck in blower wheel.

Buzzing noise, wont work???

The magnatron is shorting, overloading the high voltage transformer. From the picture this looks like an older unit and is probably not worth a magnatron replacement.
