Re: Problems not turning on

Mine wouldn't turn on using the power on switch. I suspected a bad switch but when I disassembled the unit I found a cold solder joint on one of the switch terminals.

Using a thermostatically controlled, pencil-type soldering iron and some basic soldering skills. I carefully removed the switch and re-soldered it. Works fine! (If you don't have the right tools and experience, you will damage the board and/or switch.

Re: Problems not turning on

I have two and found it pays to have a spare battery. The life of the batteries just isn't that great.

My zen won't power off

Some ideas
  1. First, try a reset: Insert a paperclip into the reset hole at the bottom of the Vision
  2. Or, try running off mains power, not battery (in case you have a dead battery)
  3. If you're able to get in to the system, try going into Recovery Mode (see below)
Otherwise, if you have a dead unit, consider returning it to the place of purchase, or contact Creative to get your machine repaired. If the Zen is less than one year old, you should be able to get it repaired under Creative's warranty. For details on how to do this, go to , or you can call +353 1 4333200.

Creative Zen should have a reset button on the side, it is a very small hole that you will need a pin to push the button inside, hold the button for about 20 seconds. This should reset the player.

Try uninstalling Windows Media Player version 11 from your computer before trying to reload the firmware. It works wonders.

Creative zen touch dead

same here, have not used mine in about two years. I just found it but the charger was missing, so I bought a wall charger because the usb would not detect it on the computer.the wall charger does not work either. I wonder if the internal battery goes dead after a while. I am thinking of calling customer service, because i do not want to spend money on a new iPod. I will post again after I call for help.

any other posts at all will be helpful.

Zen V is dead
"If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."

Zen Neeon frozen completely

Leave it alone for a while, then try reinstalling the Zen Program, then plug it in, then rest it, then try to switch it on. It worked for me
