Make sure you turn the PC off and unplug the power cord. Then you can follow this little tutorial here, (print it out if you only have one computer) ( http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/cooldrives/ide-drive-to-sata-adapter-plug-image-2.jpg ).

You can download Speedfan which is a program to monitor CPU and system temperatures and see if the fans are running properly.

My gateway ZX4351 is too loud.. How do I open the case and clean the fans?

Depends if the fan's can even be cleaned. There will probably be several screws you will need to remove on the back, along with the stand. The edges may need to be pried open, preferably with a plastic pry bar so you don't damage the case. Once the case is open unscrew the fan and see if it has a rubber stopper in the center, possibly under a sticker. If it does then you can open that and add a drop or two of sewing machine oil and it should be quiet after. If it isn't then I'd just replace the fan.

it is possible that one of the three are going out on the computer, motherboard, harddrive, power supply, only a computer tech could tell which one.

I would RMA it if you can. If not run diagnostics on RAM and HD. If its not one of those i would suspect the motherboard. Although most Gateways use Intel Desktop Boards, which are halfway decent. If it is the board I suggest replacing it with Asus.

The fan on the motherboard runs at full force constantly. Any ideas?

This is a common problem for Gateway. The first thing to do is shut the computer down and blow out the dust from the processor heatsink and other areas that it is heavily collected. Then go to the Gateway website and download the latest firmware for your computer. They constantly have fan issues. These are almost always addressed in firmware updates from the manufacturer website.

Gateway profile all in one system shuts itself off

I just had a machine in the other day with the exact problem you describe. Don't know if this will help but they had a worm and when the anti-virus kicked in or they opened any type of online program like a broswer or email the computer would shut down.

Also hardware could be the issue. If its not the above issue could you tell us when the last time the heatsink was cleaned. What if anything your doing when it shuts down....
