Blinking Green Light

I'm an old TV repair guy and was asked to replace the four caps. on the erring board in the Mitsubishi rear proj. TV. I did so. Double checked for solider bridges, put the board back in..nothing comes up. There is power to the set, I checked all connectord, grounds, etc.

Any ideas??

    "Phil",

Thanks for the hint but I think it was the DM board I changed the four caps on. It was the vertical board on the left side of the chassis.

Most of the time it is not just the 12 caps( there are 4 each on the DM FMT and PWR boards) i repair these all the time.

That is called the "Parpadeo luz verde de la muerte" or Blinking green light of death. You may want to make sure all the wires are tight first and that when you moved it a cable wasn't seated. Instead of replacing the capacitors, your situation sounds more like bad solder connections on the DM module. Here is a link to a web forum where they talk about this exact problem.http://www.highdefforum.com/rear-projection-tvs/58189-blinking-green-light-death-frequent-prob-w-mitsubishi-rear-proj-widescreens.html Blinking Green Light of ***** frequent prob Mitsubishi rear proj...

Replace the Capacitors on the DM board. You can get the WS55859 DM repair kit which covers your model from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the caps and the CD with repair instructions

I had the power supply replaced, but didn't solve the problem. Turns out multiple issues were at play. Only thing that solved the problem was to the have the chassis pulled and rebuilt by Mitsubishi. If you are insistent enough they should do it for free, minus the labor for removal and re installation (approx.$300)

Green blinking light under timer

I can almost guarantee that the circuit board(s) have bad capacitors on them. I repaired one last week that had 20 bad capacitors on 4 boards.
Fixed one the week before with 15 bad caps on two boards.
A repair shop may be able to replace the boards, but it may be expensive.

The first generation mitsubishi V26 chassis which is what your model is has a bad habit of failing capacitors. The steady blinking green power light is related to the DM not completeing the boot up sequence. You can get the V26 DM repair kit at the following link which contains the replacemnent caps that are prone to fail and has the CD with step by step instructions on how to duisassemble the cjassis and replace the caps. Its very inexspensive and will usually repair that issue. Its listed under the repair kit category.

Green light flashing

this means the DM board is not booting up. You will typically need 4-8 capacitors to fix this issue. you have to pull out the board and solder in new parts. let me know if you feel skilled enough to do this and I can give directions. The caps will usually bulge at the tops and are 1000uf .. mitsubishi recommends replacing with 680uf 16v caps..
