Finedrive units use mp3 format music files. If you plug it into your computer and accumulate a collection and then transfer it to the music folder on the Finedrive, it should work. If it doesn't, Finedrives were made my the Navman company and they may be able to supply you with a manual.
I tried hosting these files and you can see that this does not work due to their size. I then created a DVD and have been selling them on ebay to cover my costs. finedrive got $150 for this dvd and I am selling them for $16 plus shipping... if you search ebay for finedrive dvd you should find one there. I am travelling now so I dont have one listed till late this week...
the issue may be compatability, some of the early AV versions do not work with this upgrade, Also, the site I posted these at put new limitations on file sizes and types and I can no longer post these online.
I made a DVD that I sell on ebay (search for finedrive dvd) for basically the cost of labor and materials, it updates the firmware and map data to the last version issued (2007) for this mode. you need a PD, SD card reader and good DVD drive to do the update, instructions are included...
you have to use an SD card with your MP3s in it, I dont think there is much room left in the factory SD card with maps and you probably dont want to risk erasing it anyway. just remember to put the map card back in before navigating.
