How can I download purchased items on itunes (error 8003) from behind a Cisco RV220w firewall?

Configure the Cisco to "log everything", and then try the iTunes download. Then, examine the log-files, to see which connections were blocked. Then, configure the firewall to "allow" those TCP-ports.

> Zone Alarm free firewall and Avast antivirus have been installed on both computers

Your router is already acting as a "firewall" to block "unsolicited" traffic from reaching the computers on your LAN. So, unless you use Zone Alarm to block "outgoing" connections
(such as a computer-virus would try to make when "calling-home", there's little benefit
to using the Zone Alarm software.

> If I use Internet explorer to connect to http://myname.dyndns.org, Internet Explorer does connect successfully to the network. However, it invites me to enter the username and password for my Buffalo WBMR-G54 router - not for the storage drive.

While you are "forwarding" TCP port 21, you are not "forwarding" TCP port 80 (as used by the 'http://' protocol). So, when you connect from the Internet to your "public" IP-address, it is the router that responds, rather than one of your computers inside your LAN.

IMHO, it is "bad" that your router's web-interface is "exposed" to attacks from the Internet.
Either "forward" TCP port 80, or configure the router to use a _different_ port number for "remote management".

> If I enter the Router user name and password, that allows me to access the Router menus via the Internet, which confirms that my account at DynDns has translated the IP address successfully.

Correct. Hopefully, you're the only one who knows the correct username/password, and there is nobody that is doing "brute-force" attacks on your router, trying to login to "hijack" your router.

> if I use Internet Explorer or FileZilla to access ftp://myname.dyndns.org, I cannot connect to the router

Correct. The 'ftp://' protocol uses TCP port 21, which the router is "forwarding" to one of the computers on your LAN.

> or the storage drive - so I cannot access any of my files remotely.
> FileZilla reports -Status: Resolving address of bob1944.dyndns.org
> Status: Connecting to 78.144.xxx.xxx:21...
> Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message

So far, so good.

Is FileZilla expecting a "specific" content in that "welcome" message, or will "any" response be "close-enough" ?

On a computer on the Internet, open a command-line prompt:

Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Enter FTP bob1944.dyndns.org
Press Enter
Do you get a "connecting" message?
Do you get a "connected" message?
Do you see the "welcome" message?

Note that the FTP protocol usually uses _two_ ports for File Transfer:

* port 21 for "control" (sending/receiving commands/responses)
* a "random" port for "data" transfers (including directory-listings)

It's this "random" port that your router is not forwarding.

However, some FTP-clients (probably including FileZilla) and some FTP-servers
support "passive" mode, where both the "control" and the "data" connections "share" port 21.

So, configure FileZilla to use "passive" mode, and _hope_ that your FTP-server supports "passive" mode.

How do you open TCP port 63222?

Opening TCP ports in Windows may be necessary for getting certain applications to run correctly. Each application may require a specific port to operate on. While your computer can and does open ports on its own, in certain situations you may need to do this manually. Here are some tips.
Step 1. Launch Windows and click Start, then My Network Places. A new window should pop up. Select Network Tasks and then click View Network Connections
Step 2. Select the connection you use for the internet. If you do not know the connection which accesses the internet, you can disable each connection one at a time and then use your browser to see if your internet connectionmag-glass_10x10.gif works. Once you find the connection that accesses the internet, right click on it and select properties.
Step 3. A new window should pop up. Select the Advanced Tab and then select Settings.
Step 4. Right-click the connection that you use for the Internet, and then click Properties. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings.
Important Note: If your Settings button is unavailable, this means that all ports are open. Since all ports are open, you do not have to go any further to open ports manually- your job is complete.
Step 5 Click on Add to open a new port - you will see several fields. Fill in information for the following fields. For the description box and the name or IP address boxes add the details of the computer hosting the service. For IP Address you can use the following: 127.0.0.1. For the field External port and Internal port boxes, input again the IP address 127.0.0.1.
Step 6. Click TCP and then select OK. You have manually opened a TCP port on Windows.

No incoming and outgoing call

You may be behind a firewall or NAT. You can set an option that you are; if that still does not work, you may need to open some ports on the firewall.
Yahoo! Messenger uses a variety of ports.
Service Ports Chat & Messenger TCP Port 5050: Client Access only Insider/Room Lists TCP Port 80: Client Access only File Transfer TCP Port 80: Server Access.
Your ISP may block this port, as its used for web hosting.
You can change port in Messenger, Preferences, File Transfer. Voice Chat UDP 5000-5010
TCP 5000-5001: Client Access
If UDP Fails, TCP will be used instead, see below. WebCam TCP Port 5100: Client Access Super Webcam TCP Port 5100: Server Access P2P Instant Messages TCP Port 5101: Server Access
PMs between Buddys may not use the Yahoo! Server, but this is not a requirement.

How to open outgoing tcp connection...... i'm facing errors in sending sms to mobile while connecting from internet........... the details are as follows Log Out...Could not Connect... Dear User, If you...

Follow these steps:
Start-> Run-> cmd
In the black box type: ipconfig [enter]
You should see some numbers like this:

192.168.*.* IP
255.255.255.0 Sub
192.168.*.* Gateway

Go to an Internet Browser and plug in your Gateway address like this:
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1

Now your username and password will be like:
admin:admin
admin:1234
admin: {no password}
{nouser}:admin
{nouser}:1234
You get the drift.
Once you are in you can manipulate the firewall and port forwarding settings...
