For video capture the latest camcorders are providing high speed USB 2 transfer. But for older models you need to get it done with the help of firewire card.
If you want to capture your video you can either buy a firewire card(can easily purchased from computer accessory shops, low cost) and plugin to pci slot of your PC,else if you have a DV port you can connect to that with a dv cable (which can be purchased from all camera stores). The camcorder is provided with a 1394 port to which you can connect the cable from firewire card.

Once you are ready with these you can use any of the video editing programs(even you might have got a freeware from JVC) with that you can capture in full DVD quality to PC.
