Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My webcam on my Notebook PC (HP Pavilion tx 1308) does not work with my quickplay, does not work when I'm chatting on line with skype or yahoo messenger. Works well when just tested with Windows Live Messenger. It has been replaced on the device manager menu by USB 2.0 Camera. I am not able to re-instate the inbuilt webcam on the device manager.

I have a problem in using my webcam, its indicated that i need to turn it on.

You need a program like QuickPlay or Muvee Autoproducer to activate the webcam. When in Quickplay, go to the bottom of the screen, select the icon with a camera, and then choose the device from the left-hand menu.

Press the QuickPlay button (normally located near the display) on the notebook PC to open the QuickPlay application.

Alternately, click Start , type QuickPlay in the search field, and select QuickPlay when it becomes available to open the QuickPlay application.

Click the Video icon, and double-click HP webcam in the Source column.

The input from the webcam displays on the screen

How should i turn on webcam

There No Button as such to turn on webcam on the notebook but if would like to use it then you have to use the default application like quickplay provided by HP to use and record video using the webcam

and also you can use third party messenger like yahoo, MSN, Skype etc

Note : if the webcam is not working in these applications then make sure the drivers are installed correctly and also try updating it if required and still unable to use webcam then you need to contact manufacturer

My HP Pavilion Entertainment webcam issues

First uninstall the drivers and then download the latest bios update for your notebook from hp.com and then restart the computer.... then install the latest updated drivers for webcam from hp.com and check this will surely work.
If not then check for quickplay driver update too.
Another thing open task manager and then go to processes and check wethere you can find the webcam running or not if yes then right click and end the task , also check for the programs that might use webcam like if you have installed yahoo or skype messenger end the program task too.

it depend on the webcam software if it is available or not

if it is available then you can go to c:\program files\{the webcam program name}

if its not available then it will need a program to use something like (yahoo messenger or msn messenger).
