I just bought a Dell XPS M1330 and my touchpad icon in the taskbar disappeared one day, and the scroll stopped working. I went into program files and opened it again, but when I try to use it, it turns itself off. I get a window asking me if I am using another mouse, and if I want to uninstall the touchpad. When I click on No, it opens another window and runs a diagnostic, tells me there is a problem and when there is a solution they will let me know. Then it closes it all again. The mouse settings in the control panel haven't helped either. Oh, and I tried without the power (a solution someone suggested), and it made no difference.
i hav tried the latest version of the dell driver still the problem persists.Plz HELP!!!

-   I have the same problem, I miss my scrolling bar, HELP ME PLEASE!!!!! -   Sunny_UK
I also faced the same problem first I update the driver but doesn't helped me and then I uninstall the old driver and install new form Dell Support :( now its working properly:)
This problem is due to the latest driver present on the dell website. if you have tried to update your current touch pad driver then you will face this problem. To solve this uninstall the Synaptics driver which is currently installed in your system and then go to Dell folder present in your C: and install the Synaptics Touchpad driver present over there. restart the PC and your problem will be solved. I was having this problem which i fixed within 2 hrs yesterday.
Dell Inspiron 1525. Updated the touchpad driver from the Dell support site and completely lost the Dell driver and software for the touchpad. Every install of the driver failed and was left with a PS/2 mouse driver. After reading justafreak's post, I downloaded a Synaptics Touchpad driver and it installed without any problems. THEN I was able to install the R180045 (Dell touchpad) driver over the Synaptics driver from device mgr./update driver. Dell touchpad is back and works fine.

I have Dell laptop and the buttons for the left and right click on the touchpad stopped working. The touchpad part itself still works and I can left click by double tapping on the touch pad still but the actual buttons do nothing.
